I am curious if there are many here that daily drive their 599? What has your experience been, particularly in more inclement weather?

Chris, there has been a similar topic started by me. Just click on my name and threads started by me. But as I remember inclement weather was not part of the discussion.

Thanks. I did a search but didn't see anything. Guess I didn't look hard enough. I am still interested in the foul weather bit though...

im so against any fcar as a dd, especially a torque monster like the 599 in anything wet.
i drove mine once in some drizzle, put my foot slightly down rolling from a light and it wont go forward, i look around confused and realized the rear tires were spinning standing still.

ferraris are for blasting up DRY mountain twisties!

I used to have my 599 in my daily rotation and it was great. My commute does not involve traffic though, so it worked fine. If you experience stop and go traffic then I wouldn't bother.

The car has a wet and a ice traction control mode. I have never really used the ice mode but the wet one changes up the throttle response a bit. I would also drive in the rain in sport mode too, you drive carefully and you wont get into any trouble. If you want to drive fast on rainy days you would probably be better off with something that has a good 4 wheel drive system.

If you use the search function you will find several thread on this very topic.
For instance, take a look at this thread--> http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326052

The car is now approaching 60,000km as she runs better than ever.

If you're careful, the car is perfectly fine to drive in the wet. As with all cars with very wide tires, you have to be especially careful of standing water. Not to mention that with 600+ bhp driving the rear wheels, traction can be an issue if you're too happy with the throttle. The car can break traction in 4th gear (even in a straight line) in the wet under hard acceleration. That being said, whilst keeping these things in mind, I quite enjoy driving the 599 under the rain.

Thanks. I revised my search parameters and found some decent threads on this. Sounds like this car can handle the bad weather provided you are careful about how you drive it.

Wow that's fantastic! I can't wait to return to my home country to drive my 599.

I have been using it as a daily driver for close to three years now when ever I'm back home. It rains alot in Singapore, so I have to drive it in the wet regularly, and I've never had any problems as long as I held back on the acceleration.

I've got a Mercedes SL350 and a BMW 745 as well, but I hardly ever drive them, because who on earth would wanna drive those cars when you could drive a Ferrari instead :D
