BIZZARRINI-LAMBORGHINI TARGA Up for auction is a very unique one off creation. This is a Bizzarrini targa that was built on a Lamborghini 400GT chassis in Livorno Italy by Giancarlo Reali. The body is one of the fiber bodies that was remaining from the factory and would have been a GT America if it were completed at the Bizzarrini factory. Due to the bankruptcy, Bizzarrini was no longer able to produce cars under his own name. Therefore this body was ingeniously mated to a 400GT. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280691675043&clk_rvr_id=238406040132
Untrue story. Body made new by Reali, and I still known 3 or 4 cars like this built in the "90" and 2000 The car is just a Lambo rebody, nothing to do with a Bizz
As you seem so proud to know about its real story, let us know with you "higher skill" on which Lamborghini chassis VIN it is built ??? Any clue ? It's a Jarama, so it must start by "10xxx"....
Hi All I have spent a hour or so just skimming through this fabulious thread well done every one. Question if I may and I am sure its been mentioned here some where, did the Bizzarrini 5300 GT always have an alloy body? as I remember a CAR in Australia with a fiberglass body. regards Graeme
No, there were a few made with fiberglass. That said there are also a number of fiberglass cars that aren't Bizzarrini's
s/n B0232 will be offered for sale by RM auctions in London, October 26 http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails.cfm?SaleCode=LF11&CarID=r121 Is it Iso or Bizzarrini?
I would agree on the both comment and call 232 a transition car. The car has a dymo (plastic) Bizzarrini label over the ISO guage. I've seen photos of the car when the barn fell on it. Thorough restoration by Diamante after. Very cool car.
The burgundy America earlier in this thread is alloy. Is the America designation incorrect or did they build alloy ones? If so how many were built?
An Americana is a fiberglass body period. The car is miss -labled. If it has a alloy body its a Strada or a Corsa ( Street or Competition)
Photos of the Mike Gammino's P538 from 1966 Can-Am Bridgehampton. Hope it's not repost... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/87/wmbridgehampton19660918.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/828/wmbridgehampton19660918.jpg/
Look at the ex-LeMans P538 at the rear! Any idea where and when this image was taken? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/705/42851222.jpg/
I believe the last Carey Loftin car sold in California was an America, but it was aluminum. Not sure what to think of that as the car is very original.
He is clearly claiming that this is a "real" Bizzarrini body in his new ebay listing. Are you positive that this car has no historical significance or origins to Bizzarrini? Clearly, you seem to be an expert on these cars. Here is the new listing on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280761046440&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123#v4-40 Also, would love to get your take on this car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Makes-ALLOY-STRADA-1967-BIZZARRINI-5300GT-STRADA-ALLOY-COUPE-STORED-30-YEARS-SAME-OWNER-SINCE-/220879033079?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item336d6a92f7
I like the look of this one... '68 "5300GT Strada"... I wonder what is the opinion of this car, with its interesting "started before the bankruptcy, finished in '77" story... http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/870-Bizzarrini-5300GT%20Strada-Chevrolet%20327%20c.i.%20V8
Awww, come on... Half the fun of these cars are the stories, plus I'm betting there is at least 5 pages of back biting, flaming, fighting and name calling in this story...
Would love to know where are located all four P538 now? And what correct info about Bizzarrini Manta? Is Manta ex-538 or this car was build using parts from Bizzarrini not the chassis P538?
