I just saw a promo for a new movie coming out TOWER HEIST. Ben Stiller is one of the stars. What disturbers me is I think I saw Stiller smashing the crap out of the rear glass on a red Lusso. As a former owner I know Lussos very well.
If they did harm it, we need to raise hell with the movie's producers about ethical treatment of classic Ferrari's in movies. I also think a disclaimer that no Ferrari was harmed should be displayed in the credits.
Maybe I'm wrong and it's a fake like Miami Vice's Daytona and others. I hope so.

There is a 599 GTO in there also. Side note: It looks like Eddie Murphy decided to be funny again.

Let's hope. They quoted me on a f/g Lusso body a while back. Lets hope it's a fake. Should be illegal and I'll sign the petition.

In REDLINE they crashed a 612- actually it was a 456 swapped at the very last second in the scene. Certainly no Lusso and few admire the car (I can say that I am a proud owner of an M) but still a #$%ing waste.

likely would have been a rig set-up for the close up scene, and 'sugar glass' or break away glass of some kind

.....so perhaps some F-chat bumper stickers saying "be kind to your Ferrari" ? LOL :)

Is it just the glass? Maybe it's the 'sugar glass' or whatever that stuff is called, it breaks easily and is used in lots of movies.

Why is this in the 456/550/575 section?

I'm a 550 guy. I also posted in the open section. I thought 550 owners might not always look at the other section and might be interested, slow news day.

    Hi,

I have a little information which should bring some relief to classic Ferrari fans. The 250GTO which apparently gets beaten up in "Tower Heist" is a 'foam and fiberglas' Ferrari built on a Volvo 1800E - I know this because I bought the excess Volvo-body panels from the Volvo 1800E from the company which built the Ferrari (Picture Car Warehouse).

I look forward to seeing the movie sometime :)

    Kind regards,
    Jens, Denmark

Sure looked like a Lusso to me.

A must see. A movie starring a Berlinetta Lusso. It's a good, funny movie. Enjoy.

I saw a one second shot of the red Lusso in the preview on TV
Looks pretty realisitic. Made from Volvo P1800 with some real Lusso
    trim parts.
Anybody know which shop in Los Angeles built it and whether the two are for sale?
(Maybe one was damaged in the film, I didn't see it yet, it's getting medicore reviews but should take $30 mil the first weekend)

From what I've seen from the trailers, the Lusso isn't treated very well.... :( Hopefully it's a replica?

Looks funny though; want to see it.

Ironic the fake Ferrari is a bigger star than the fake actors in the movie.

Its even more amusing, to me at least, that everyone is talking about the fake Ferrari in the movie, when there is actually a real Ferrari in the movie as well.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned that matthew broderick has been in two movies where someone intentionally smashes Ferrari's.

Thanks for the "inside information", but hopefully the 1800E fans won't hear of it.

    Interesting selection of cars:

I saw the movie today and was just about to come here and ask what Matthew Broderick's problem was with Ferraris... lol. Hmm... must be a Lambo guy. :D

Overall, I thought it was an enjoyable movie.

Do you honestly think or believe that a REAL Lusso was used and abused in the movie? LMAO
