    To all Houston member's I would appreciate your help finding a local Yorkie pup. If needed I am available for meeting's but I must emphasize I'm looking for a pup that cannot be taken care of and I am not rich so I cannot afford a $600 purchase. If anyone has any idea's or lead's they would be greatly appreciated.

    I just found out my friend who lives in Baytown,TX found an abandoned Yorkie wandering the streets a few week's ago and it is less than 1yr old but I'm happy for her and the puppy. So on that note I have decided that I will go to the SPCA and adopt a young puppy who need's a loving home.

    Cruise downtown to BARC (as well as the SPCA on Old Katy Road) and take your pick, before they gas 'em......I'm sure there is one...

    Yep BARC Houston, who knows what it means?

    No yorkies came up in the Find a Pet search but I'd go out there.....out off 59N.

    They kill about 200 a day.

    I would strongly suggest petfinder.com. It has all rescue associations linked and you can search by breed, sex, age and location. You will be shocked how many great dogs and cats are looking for homes. We got our last two purebred Akitas from this site. The animal breeding industry is quite ugly and feeding them big $$$ for dogs and cats just feeds the engine in my opinion. Rescue is the way to go.

    We have an American Bulldog from Boxer Rescue......

    I have no idea what his life was like before but he's the happiest, friendliest loving dog I have ever seen...he 'smiles" when he sees you come home, no kidding.

    And gives out kisses non stop, big slurpy "fresh from the water bowl" ones...LOL!

    I think he was a lap dog in a previous life....as he REALLY wants to be there!
    A little large...we gave him his own sofa.

    We kept our friends 4 month old Yorkie for the weekend and I love that dog and now I am sad because her owner (family friend) is coming to get her today.
