Thanks for clarifying, Greg. I should not have been so concrete in my statement, as you say ot depends on severiy. I recall being told of a case where the mva victim died 24 hours afterward due to an undetected aortic dissection. Does it (or can it) take the form of an aneurism in such cases?

Just heard from Legal Aid. Case thrown out, no validity. No case to answer.

Just another vexatious BS money grab by a TryHard.

Yes, the human body has a "design flaw" as it can't withstand the G-forces from large and sudden speed decelerations. The maximum impact speed with an immovable object is something like 20kmh as I recall.

I have to say I find that hard to believe; but if you met him I guess I'll have to take your word for it. Looking at that video a few times, I reckon the impact speed was circa 50kmh SIDEWAYS, with a deceleration to 0 kmh pretty much instantaneously. Besides the
G- forces, the tree made it half way through the car via the drivers door.

surely that is a sliding scale ?

Boxers must face higher speeds that that from being punched ?

babies would have lower resistance but thick-headed (doctor's description of my head) people may handle higher deceleration ?

Not really a function of skull thickness but as one ages, brain shrinks and there is more room within the skull for it to rattle around, hence the elderly are more susceptible to subdural haemorrhages from minor trauma.

Though you are talking about human boxers................
Scott will/could/should remember the MASSIVE hit on a Boxer on one of the first Targa Tas'
Took out a telegraph pole on the first (I think) day of '93.

both the competitors were VERY sick but(I think) got out of it OK in the end ......after MUCH
    rehabilitation.
The hit was also a sideways one with an estimate of 100mph.

I think you may find some of the parts of that car are in a mutual acquaintances'/Fchatters car.
