Even if it exploded into a ball of flames tomorrow I still wouldn't regret buying it.

There's a certain charm to the "lusting after" and "hunting for" stages but looking back it really sucked being in that mode. Just my 2 pennies.

For me it has been better to 'buy and own'. :)

Don't get me wrong, EVERYONE lusts after their very own Ferrari and so did I.

But owning it now far outweighs the experience I had of lusting after one for all those years.

I want one or two more Ferraris in my life time and I'll tell you now..........I am not lusting after the next Ferraris at all. :p

I will be excited when I buy them, I think.

No regrets at all! Love my F355 and don't ever plan on selling it. Waited 24 years to buy my Ferrari - only regret is I should have bought it sooner!

Best part of owning my 355 are all the friendships I have made as a result. Fchat friends, FCA buds. Of course hearing her wail at 8k rpm: priceless!

    I voted no.

Even though my, read that again MY, 348 has been a big pain in the ass, I have gotten more benefits from owning it than had I not owned it. You guys being one of them. I honestly get more enjoyment chatting with you guys than I have from my car.

    Both are OK.

Works like this: You lust after the first one, buy it, then start lusting after another. There ae enough out there to keep you occupied for life.

You guys bring up some excellent points; Ferrari ownership has gotten us altogether as one big family...through FChat, although having only met one FChatter in the flesh, I have made some very decent friends that are very generous.

No! But, there is one caveat- I've never bought one. But if I ever get the chance to, I won't regret it.

+1 meeting people on F-chat was worth it alone :)

I was happy owning a 348 spider as my first true exotic, sure there were a few problems but for the most part excellent.

It has been 3 good years with the 355 Spider (nope, my top has never failed me and I cycle it every week) and I stil feel like a kid every time I take her out. She just makes life so good to live!

I voted not sure. I bought my 92 348 TB 3 months ago. So far, so good. I'll know more in the spring when the little beast is opened up to get her belts & etc done. All that said - My gut says - no regrets!

I still think the survey method is inherently problematic if we are going for scientific rigour here. Those who had significant regrets about ownership (not mitigated by social aspects mentioned above) might not subsequently hang around on an enthusiast site to lament them for sufficient duration to encounter the poll, while satisfied owners are likely to want to remain abreast of events in the Ferrari world. If this was a journal submission and we were the referees, I think we might be referring this one to the editor. lol :D

Nice! Are you going to to be looking for your 288 GTO when they're done?

Well, ok, if I must... :D

    Colour Preferences:
    1. Blu Sera Metallico (Metallic Evening Blue) on Black or Tan - I think that's what the Miles Davis 348 is, on Black.
=2. Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) on Tan / Giallo (Yellow) on Black - assuming Mike's #79 is Giallo and not Giallo Fly.
=3. Grigio Metallico (Metallic Gray) / Nero (Black)

In truth though, I'm very fickle about colour. But then there are some days when Yellow is tied with Blue at the top, as it's a bit more of an attention-grabbing colour, which is also nice. Though I also see the appear of a traditional Red, and I've always liked most cars in Blue. Really, it would depend on what's available - as long as it's a 348, I'm sure to love it. ;)

    Body Preferences:
    1. 1:64 scale "matchbox" tb or GTB
    2. 1:64 scale "matchbox" ts or GTS

:D Hehehe - if you insist on buying me a car, I figure a little model for the work desk would be inspiring for me to save up for a 1:1 scale 348. ;)

As an interesting tangent to the thread, I wonder if anyone has bought a particular colour Ferrari and then later pined for a different colour. Although, I suppose anyone in that position could always go for a bare-metal total respray and get whatever colour they want - so I guess there's always the option for change if you can stand to see someone taking a sander to your original paintwork. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Never regretted purchasing the My 348 spider. Have owned it over 9 years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. My only regret is not having the time to drive it more.

I've had my 308 for 10 years. Every time she goes into the shop, I get butterflies. When I get the bill & it's way more than I expect, I regret.
I dont expect the 355 to be any different.

But boy, those cars can always put a smile on my face.

And isn't that why we buy these things???? I got far more joy out of removing the cover and looking at my shiney red car then I thought I ever would! I look forward each and every day to the moment I turn the key and roll her onto the highway on her first run. But, I am having a blast just making evrything right again. Part of the joy for me is taking something someone else destroyed and making it new again. No better feeling of a job well done when you get dressed to the nines and take your new toy out only to be complemented when someone says...."is it new?" That is the best feeling!!!
