    Hello,

Trying to look to the future, given the fact that for every 10 430 F1s, only 1 manual car was made (and I've heard that this ratio could even be as much as 20:1), what are the thoughts of everyone out there in terms of which version of the 430 will hold greater value?

My gut reaction is to say the manual version will be worth more than a similar equipped F1 version, just like the 1-mirror Testarossa is worth more than the others, but because it appears the F1 is such a good transmission, and everyone loves that transmission, maybe this is an exception?

Any ideas/thoughts... or even facts as to what *might* happen in say 3-9 years from now?

    Thanks!

Do you mean a 430 model as it'll never be collectable.......

Or is this in the wrong section ?

In the right section there's numerous similar threads

i think the manuals will be worth more in the long term, mainly because there are fewer of them, and they are less costly to maintain.

He's oviously talking about the REAl car...:D
But admittedly in the sense of 'collectibility".

Hard to say, 430s will never be collectable they are driving appliances.

That said, for simplicity and running cost the manual will ALWAYS be cheaper than the F1 cars.

I think that they will become collectable, but it's going to take a while. I suspect that at least 10 - 20% of them have already been totaled. I suspect their collectability will come about in 20 years or so. Remember they only built less than 16k of them world wide, and the US only got 4500 to 5500 of them (1100 a year is what I heard).

The sticks were about 10% and the coupes about the same. What that means is that there are probably less than 100 coupes with the stick shift in the USA. Not a lot, for sure.

Oops! When I read collectibles I thought it meant the real cars... sorry about that!

And yes, I was talking about the real car, and as some have suggested, I am trying to peer into the future.

As a back-story... I have a manual F430, but I also have access to an F1 F430 one year younger.

I'm looking to trade up to a newer model Ferrari, and it *appears* like there is this "hint-hint, nudge-nudge" kind of reaction when they see my manual car... even though at the moment, it "technically" should be worth less than the F1 version.

Anyway, thats why I asked... didn't want to give up the manual too soon...
