I can sympathize. I actually refrained from driving the exotics while we were going through our melt down in 2008-2009. Now though, things are better (OWS notwithstanding) and it's "ok" again. I like that FF with the dark grate.

    well said.

I will never be able to afford a FF. Not even close. But all the more power to them who are and actually buy one.

Having said that, the rich will remain rich no matter what crisis. And I think in terms of 2+2 the FF will be a sales hit, also in Europe.

obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion ... especially about something as subjective as looks (or style).

What bugs me about the haters, though, are posters who :

    1. judge the vehicle, without ever having seen it in person.
    2. hop from thread-to-thread, continually offering nothing more than their opinion about the vehicle's looks (yes, virginia, this makes them trolls)
    3. Assume that their opinion on the looks must somehow be universally accepted as a fundamental truth ... "anyone who doesn't agree with me must be blind!" kinda thiing

You don't like the looks (of the pictures, typically)? Fine. State your opinion ... recognize that it is your opinion only ... and leave it alone.

I think it's an utterly dreadful looking car. But... An absolutely sensational car all the same. If I were in the market for a 4 seater Ferrari I'd have one on my drive without a second thought.

Disclaimer: I've not seen it in the flesh yet. I may well do a 180 when I do.

I was at the factory last week and given an FF to drive in the Italian countryside. What an utterly amazing car. Backseat is really fantastic - it is slightly elevated so you can actually see something more than the back of the front seat. Suspension and traction of the FF are from another planet. Car is beautiful in the metal.

I'd love to get behind the wheel. And for a really long journey. And I can believe that it might look very good in the metal. I'm still having a hard time with the front of he 458 in pictures despite thinking it sensational in the metal.

On the unveiling day, I said that exact thing: this is for the guys who love rally cars but want the Ferrari version. There are probably plenty of Gen X/Y young men who see this as the ultimate STI/Evo.

Well today I had a look at an FF and honestly I admit I was wrong, when I saw the pictures I thought it looked terrible but seeing one in the metal today changed my mind completely, this example was in Nero and I must say the design is quite aggressive, looking at the front there is something pleasing about the lines but its hard to define. There is also quite a nice proportion to the rear wheel arches and most of all its such a different design, its not at all like the M coupe.

The sound.....well its amazing! I dont think you can look at the FF the same way you look at a 458 or California, its simply different to them and I can imagine no finer daily driver than a FF!

The car reminds me of my experience with the Cayenne. When I first saw pictures of the Cayenne I literally laughed and said to myself Porsche is literally going bankrupt. They will sell maybe 3 of those things. It's incredibly ugly. Then I saw one in real life and thought "hey, I was totally wrong. That thing looks pretty darn nice!" Same thing with the FF. As the reviewer on Yahoo wrote, it just screams that it is NOT a 458 or a California or even a 599 and don't compare me to one. It's just. . . different is all I can say and is soooo much better in person. I will also admit to going to the dealer and sitting there while he proudly presented me with the video of the car before the pix were unveiled. My response? "Uh. . . don't take this the wrong way, you know I love the cars but that's really not my thing" 11 months later? It's in my garage.

Strange thing was I spent about 30 min walking around this car as the saleperson showed me everything and dare I say it but there is a certain beauty to some of the detailing and proportions dont look right on paper but my word they seem to work in person. Sure it wont appeal to everyone but there is just something captivating about it...

Congratulations on the purchase of your FF!

I was never "wrong" about this car. I loved it from the get-go. I love the crazy idea of a Ferrari shooting brake with 650+ hp and 4WD.

The only thing that I don't understand is that the FF is not Trail Rated. When I spoke to the salesman at the Jeep dealership, I mentioned in passing how awesome the FF was. He was quick to say that it was not Trail Rated and likely never will be. Leave it to the Italians to make a 4x4 but not have it be Trail Rated. I guess that’s part of the “charm of the brand”.

I saw the car in the flesh in Grigio and Nero, what can I say; I loved the concept in pictures but live, it is even better.
What a cool car, it should be in the next 007 movie.

Well base on my experience. I've already driven one, and what a car. It's an awesome "wagon". It has still the Ferrari power into it. Love the space and is a fast car. Trust me. :)

In 5 years this car will prove to be exactly what it is.....A lump of coal worse than the 348.
