You must by Tonino's book next time you will go to Dosso in Italy to visit family museum... Folks, Tomorrow I will meet & interview Mr. Mario Marazzi... any special request ?
Excellent news Olivier. I tried to get in touch with Marazzi (the company, not Mario himself) a few years ago without result, well done. Please ask him about Ferruccio's inputs in the Islero's design! All the best and enjoy! PS: today was certainly the last time I took the Islero before snow... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I recently purchased the car, was able to come to a price that was good for both me the buyer and the seller. It should be here at my shop any day now as it left the East Coast last Tuesday. All the documentation and paperwork was pretty exstensive and costly dating back quite some years. The recent work was verifyed as well by my inspector and the car passed everything we were looking for.. Looking forward to getting it here....
Roy, Me thinks you got a very nice car "right"! Congrats. I was surprised it did not sell via the first ebay listing.
Hi Olivier, Yes, it would be great if Mario could confirm that the cars were ordered in batches of 50 units, and that #151 was the first Marazzi 400 GT 2+2. Please ask him if we can tell by any differences when a car is Marazzi build, accept for the badges. Thicker front seats? Importante: Did the Marazzi 400 GT 2+2 cars have a Touring badge with bodynumber at the firewall? I would like to know if the cars are painted by Marazzi as well, and included the complete interior, before delivered to Lamborghini. Were the cars being transported from Marazzi to Lamborghini by Truck? 2 or 3 at one time? or 7 or 8? It looks like all Lamborghini did was fitting the suspension, wheels engine, gearbox, and exhaust pipes, correct? Was the first proto Islero #6000 delivered with chromed sills or light blue? ( the part below the doors, between the wheels) Please bring the book of the Islero meeting and show it to him! Also tell him that we will have a second Islero meeting when some other cars are ready, like Julian, Stefan, Magnus, Thomas, your Le Mans car, Ed with functioning wipers etc. We wil be honored to have him as our special guest. Good luck! Ciao! Marcel
Hi Marcel, folks, Just to make things clear, I have already in hands some answers to your questions... like digits production sequence, Kevin is close... but I keep these for my book in priority... hope you understand I still want to surprise you !! * The production batch is minimum 100 units... * There is NO difference between Touring & Marazzi production... * Lamborghini only fitted all mechanical components... * Pick up truck took what was available... * Production process will be described in my book... I've recorded 6 hours detailled answers to my questionnary. Mario Marazzi enjoyed the meeting, he is '72 years old, tired but still found of that era and became/was a close friend of Ferruccio. He would like to come and meet us, but as I wrote he is tired. I had lunch with his son, Marco, and we both agreed to make him come to the '50 Anniversary event. 1 scoop : #6000 has some particularities we discovered last year at your nice meeting, Marcel, all these were modified at Sant'Agata after the car was finished at Marazzi ! Ciao, Olivier
What a teaser for your book! Can't wait to read it! Did you get some info about Ferruccio's direct input in the Islero?

Anyone else have a car like mine? I've noticed when looking inside of the trunk with the inner trim panels removed that both rear fenders, just in front of the bumper recesses in the sheetmetal, have a patch of metal welded in, about 1 1/4" tall 8" long (guesses). Did the factory think there would be some kind of sidelight there or what? I'm pretty darn sure this is factory original and not a strange modification hence removed? VIN 6051. Anyone?
According to Mr. Marazzi, all Islero are the same manufacturing... do you have pic to illustrate your question ?
Here you go. Both sides look pretty much the same. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Obviously though it was/is not coated the same as the rest of the trunk, so perhaps it was later put in, but what the heck would have been there?
It is in front of the indented area that the bumper fits in. So no, it is not part of the bumper in any way. They are indeed strange patch panels perhaps from who knows what. I think this was a German issue car originally, any wierd side markers ever required there?
no side marker ever required in Germany !!! One scoop from Marazzi : here is the model that was built to show the different suggestions of design between 400 GT 2+2 to prefigure Islero... Image Unavailable, Please Login

Your car deserve its +100.000 $ price, I cannot understand why it is not yet gone... I present it to potential buyers in Europe, the point is to organise shipping + costs + European incoming taxes... Why don't you put it in a big auction ?
Next auction isn't until late January, on the wrong side of the country plus it is on Cavallino weekend. The car will be gone before then. Anyone in Europe thinking about buying it or any other car in the US should do it real soon while the Euro still has some value vs the dollar. The car will now cost them 7,000 Euros more than when the car was first offered. I can point you in the right direction for shipping my last car went to Brazil. There have been a number of offers, a few from people in this forum. They were close but just need to step up a bit more.
