I'm sure everyone is tired of being asked this question, but I'm eager to buy a Dino and am having a difficult time finding a nice one. I'd be grateful for any help or suggestions. I'm seeking a GTS not a GT, US or Euro is fine, and NOT a flairs and chairs car. I'm flexible on color both exterior and interior. I'm not interested in showing the car, but I do want a car that's in very good running condition. I've been through the PPI process on a few cars recently which sadly were not in the condition that was represented. I'm a cash buyer, ready to act immediately, or as soon as I can find the right car. Please keep me in mind even if you don't know of anything that's available right now. Some owners I've met at shows occasionally consider selling their cars to move on to another project or model, and I'd be delighted to engage in that dialogue. Many thanks

Hey! What's wrong with the GT???? I like mine! Just kidding, GTSs are nice too. Best of luck on your search. Dinos seem to be getting harder and harder to find. Owner just do not want to let go.

I, too, had the same problem when looking for my first Dino....Too many people with a "PERFECT" car that wasn't the. I didn't want perfection, I just wanted a fair description.

What are you willing to spend?

Dinolust, I suggest you keep trolling the Internet. It took me a long while, but I kept trying. After several months, one turned up, so you have to be patient. I agree with yuou, because of the difficulty of locating a good one, condition trumps color. As usual, buy the best car you can afford. With today's prices, a very good Dino could be expensive.

Also change your FChat name to something that will help with negotiation.

Instead of "Dinolust", maybe "Dinopassinginterest" or something.

    Wow - isn't £ 195000 (over USD 300 000) about 100 % ahead of the market ?

Well that is the way they are going!
I have seen this car in the flesh and in all honesty.............it is probably one of (dare i say it) The best in the world.
    Trust me.
Yes absolutely top money, but i am convinced it will sell.
The owner has been an F-Chatter in the past albeit very infrequently.

    Now sold !

It did not take long. UK Dino prices, particularly for the GTS, are moving north at quite a pace. Demand far outstrips supply.

That car in england is, at least in the photos, a very excellent looking car. I have one soon to enter the market, probably this time next year, for 125k but it is not a body off restoration just a driver with paint, body, and interior and good mechanics. You could make it like the one in England for another 150k but it's a gt. euro.

The upside, you would be involved in the restoration process and pay for the extra work you require. If experienced in the process involved, a really good situation if you were in ca. Can't have it all.

I think it's difficult to compare UK / RHD cars to the rest of the world because the RHDs are significantly rarer.
But that is big money, especially for a 13 year old restoration. Was it painted with lacquer? If so it will start crazing soon.

Nick Cartwright did the body work and it was a very large bill at the time!
Car is (as far as i believe) in two pack so will not craze.
I also suspect that the car has done very little mileage since the resto as i have been led to believe that it became such a garage queen that it was trailered to shows!
So there is the reason that it is still concours.

    Dinolust,
Please send me a PM if you're interested in a '74 red/black GTS, #08118, multiple Platinum Award winner, Ferrari Cup Award for Best 6-cyl Ferrari at Cavallino in 2010, and other significant FCA awards. But it's a driver . . . 74,400 miles! About 64,000 of those miles were under my custody & care over the last 34 years It's also not $300,000+.

    Hope to hear from you.

    Bill

Hey, Henne, where you been hiding? Time for you to head south with the Snowbirds! :)
I'm selling because my body doesn't bend like it used to (I'm 70) and my wife's is worse than mine. We need something more . . . eh . . . user friendly. I'm not sure what Ferrari will fit that bill. Pun intended! 456/550/at best a 360, if I'm lucky.

    Bill
