Blue 456 at intersection of West End and Robert E Lee this afternoon.
I am almost positive the guy that owns the GT3-RS is the service manager of Acura. Also I would say depending on the car and circumstances. Has anyone ever parked a Ford GT in between two cars than tried to exit or get in?????
It's been my experience that people here in Louisiana are much less tolerant of exotic cars and our interest in keeping them pristine than anywhere else I've lived (TX, CA, NM). I find that anywhere else I can park as far away as I want, and even take up two spaces (which I rarely do, because of my Louisiana upbringing). But in Louisiana even parking far away results in spiteful reactions. If I had a nickel for every time in the past that I would complete the lengthy journey back to my car at the end of the lot only to find a couple junkers parked up so close to me that I could barely get in, then I could have afforded all the door dings that the soccer-mom/sorority girls yabbing on their cell phone provided to my cars. People are just hateful, spiteful animals and around here the chips-on-shoulders are really, really big for some reason. Because of this I RARELY park the Lambo anywhere here. People are just too hateful to be able to sit back and just enjoy the car, as I or anyone else here in this forum would. I either take the Noble for wartime parking duty or I just take the wife's Escape.
Not sure, it was a Sunday and the dealership wasn't open. FWIW I didn't notice any sale sign or price tag.
I think Baldwin may just rotate his collection through there. I called about a nice looking old MB SL he had there and the sales people didn't know what I was talking about. It was gone a few days later with another old car in its place. On their website there is a section with the cars from his collection that are for sale. I got to see John H.'s 458 going down Hullen today. Sounded great.
I've experienced the exact opposite (reactions) to what you've experienced, though I don't live in NOLA-proper or Metry. I've had extremely amicable happenings with no problems/trouble whatsoever. Kids, motorcyclists, LE, teens, adults, et al all pull out the mobile camera phones everywhere - and I happily oblige with conversation or anything, be it in parking lot, traffic light, neighborhood store, etc. The only 'issue' I've had is with nearly every damned 'vette owner or 'stang owner wanting to race the F430...
So I saw a freakin' Veyron on the road. (in Dallas but I live in New Orleans so I'll post here). It was stuck in traffic going the opposite way from me, the first thing I thought was "That's a weird looking R8...HOLY****BUGATTI!"
Well John Maybe you don't realize that GT3RS is to low to get into that parking lot at Houston's. I'm sure we will run into each other at Nola Motorsports , Come Say Hi !!! Incase your wondering the Black F50 was for Jim , Thats his second one.
"Michael D".... license plate.... I get it! Would love to see your car M.D. There is a black one with orange accents up here in mandeville... I simply love the RS
For me it is pickup trucks. And motorcycles. No actual sports cars yet. Bizarre. My experiences here are so tarnished and jaded because I grew up here, so I've had time to see the worst people here have to offer when it comes to car-hate. But that would prob be true of any place if you stay there long enough I guess.
No kidding man... Is that the one Sharkwerks called kermit? The 3.9l build? Sure looks similar, great looking ride. I can't wait to see it tear up the track
Didn't realize having gone to Houston's dozens of times that the ingress/egress was that severe. Would love to see your car run anywhere, especially on the new track. Also, sorry to have misunderstood the plate on your P-car and thinking it meant a reference to your profession. For the sake of detail, the black F50 was F50 #3 for Jim, behind the first regular production red F50 he had and the F50 GT he also previously had. The black F50 #3 is still driven in spirited fashion by another well-known local enthusiast Did I mention that your car sounds like a real beast when rumbling down the street? I've seen it a few times and usually hear it before the visual confirmation.
Well I never heard the car from the outside yet. lol And that other F50 was a race car , not street legal. but who cares lol. Dan has a great car collection. This was not a good day. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yikes, what's the backstory on the pic? I didn't realize Jim had 3 F50s, I knew of only 2 (the GT and the rat).
Not the first, rather that his first was a regular production F50 and the 2nd was a factory race car meant to compete with the likes of McLaren F1 GTR and weighed 400 kg less than a production F50 and with 750 bhp
Saw this Mercedes...think that's an sls??? Down the street from my parents' house uptown. Image Unavailable, Please Login
