Can someone recommend a good carrier to transport a car from Seattle to Lexington, KY? I need an enclosed carrier.

    Thanks all.

I used Intercity to transport mine from Reno, NV to Wisconsin. Car was perfect when it was delivered. About $1,500.00

    Hi Chris:

I recently shipped a couple of cars through a broker called Capt Mark of Honest Movers. He was easy to work with and got the job done. I sent a roller resto project Alfa Sprint Speciale to Burlington WA (north of Seattle) enclosed for $1550. And had a 308 shipped to me in Mount Sterling KY from Puyallup WA (near Seattle as well) not enclosed for $901. Thoses prices includes the broker fees of $150 and $100 respectively. Mark's info below:

    Capt Mark
    Sr. Transport Coordinator
    Honest Auto Movers
    87 Isle of Venice Drive
    Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
    954-993-1120 - Office - 24/7

Price will depend on whether the car is running and driving vs roller, the size of the car, and how quickly you want it to move. Its cheaper coming from Seattle to LEX than the other way around. I can provide the actual companies and their contacts the broker utilized. I really liked both sets of guys, all four of which from the two different companies were eastern block guys from Russia or neighboring lands. Go figure. Enclosed you get better insurance coverage and can ship items in the car if necessary.

    Best Regards,
    John M

Some recent experience shipping a car from Denver to San Antonio (1000 miles):
    - Intercity - "Don't do that route"
    - Horseless Carriage - "Don't do that route"
    - Passport - $2300
    - Reliable - $1800
    - Western Auto Transport - $850

All good companies, good service, good equipment, good drivers, huge variance in prices. Don't forget to add the tip for the driver!

Ive used Passport/Fedex and Intercity many times, with no issues. I used Horseless Carriage once, and they damaged one of my Ferraris, then weasled out of the insurance claim the minute my check for the transport cleared.

Demoise isn't what they used to be. Turned us down last 4 requests for east coast deliveries, had to go to Exotic Car transport in Orlando, much bigger fleet, same pricing.

I just used Intercity to bring a Porsche from Monterrey CA to Spokane WA . They did an outstanding job and even had the car her 2 days early. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Also of the 4 carriers that i got quotes from they were the best price by about 10%.

I used Horseless Carriage to move my 328 from Arkansas to NJ, and they did a great job, reasonable price. Intercity has a good reputation also. I believe that both offer a 10% discount on shipping for FCA members. Something to check out.

Used Horseless Carraige about 3 years ago to get Prugna from New Jersey to St. Louis. I was quite happy with them and their price was very competitive.
