What's the Serial No. of the Hairpin 288 GTO? Now that 288 GTOs are more than 25 years old, any example is able to enter the U.S. DOT/EPA exempt, etc.
Just want to say that "I love this thread!" Reading here is the second best thing than seeing a GTO in flesh. Last time I saw a GTO in flesh when I'm at the local dealership, I literally stood beside the GTO for over 30 mins It's just too rare and too expensive for me...
A UK ferrari dealer by the name of Dick Lovett has a showroom in Cardiff, which recently had a 288 on display, it was not showing as being for sale on their website, but an email to them might generate its details.
The Hairpin car is 54809. The claimed mileage appears to be at variance with what was reported way back in 1987. The car spent at least 13 years in Japan and that would be a period virtually impossible to verify maintenance records.
The car to which Paul. S is referring to that was located at the Dick Lovett showroom in Cardiff, South Wales is not the ex-Adrian Newey car. The car Paul. S had seen had been in the excellent workshops of Dick Lovett Cardiff/Porsche Centre Cardiff for routine service work and was merely on display in their showroom until the owner was able to collect her. The car is not for sale. This is the car, apologies for my poor camera phone images. Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login
thank you! but is serial number 52741 indeed the ex-Adrian Newey car? Or, is the issue that 52741 is just not the car at Lovett's?
52741 is indeed the ex Adrian Newey car. 52741 is not the car at Dick Lovett's. Sorry for the initial confusion. Paul
Hi Paul, do you work at Lovetts? I am assuming so due to access to the car in order to be able to take the photo. You dont happen to do circuit training in Penarth do you? At a guess is the car from the large private ferrari collection from Bridgend way ?, the chap who owns the airline support company
whats been the issue regarding title and sale in California on the 288 has it been an issue with the DMV or owners are just not going that route ?
288 GTOs are not California-legal as they are 1984 or 1985 build cars. About 6 of them have been 'converted' and assigned a California BAR sticker, and some of those remain in California.
"52741 is not the car at Dick Lovett's." Do Dick Lovett's lie ??? http://www.dicklovettspecialistcars.co.uk/CarsforSale/?item=B591OPG
