No need to apologize. I never considered myself a financial advisor. I am investor, who happens to manage money of investors and I generally invest alongside the investors. I am more an investment manager and manage a hedge fund.

My problem is with cheesy sales people is that they don't know the difference between getting you to invest $25K so they can buy a few stocks and managing a portfolio of $340+ million-which is the current size of the real estate fund I manage. When I was talking to the Madoff guy, we were on a road show and had been told the investor was looking to place $5 million. He had considerably more than that with Madoff. Much more.

Erased?????? I have worked very hard to keep this thread going, and you want it erased????? NOOOOOO! He needs to pay the bill, and this thread needs to be kept visible for all to see...if this thread is deleted, some poor soul might get stuck dealing with Kevin in the future...this is a public service announcement.

As for Kevin relocating, you can see from his bio that he has done that A LOT!!!! Seems like he keeps running from stuff...

I guess people never learn that it's not smart to go against a community of almost 90k people when all you have backing you up is lies and BS. Great thread!

Is anyone weirded out by the fact that this "hedges" company logo has a pyramid in it? Seriously with all the recent pyramid schemes getting busted lately.... A one man financial firm has a pyramid in the logo?

Also, who has to "move some money around" to pay a $1000 car repair bill?

He is paralyzed. He has experienced extreme panic. He has no clue what to say or do.

In a pinch, I can't have a guy like this using my money. Might become a Corzine.

Good spot! That's quite funny really. :D

Someone who doesn't have $1000 and is buying for time or trying to dodge paying altogether?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I am a man of my word. The offer still stands. $973.- to make 10,000+ views disappear seems like a bargain to me.

Someone who owns a car they can't afford to maintain...that could be why he sold the Porsche. Maybe he sold the car to pay other bills...and hoped Karl would forget.

Look, a successful businessman doesn't need to drum up business the way Kevin tries to. I haven't seen any advertisement for European Road and Racing. But Kevin sent out eVites to more than 700 people...people he doesn't know...and gets 6 responses. He's appears to be all show, no go. He portrays an image of success, but can't back it up...it's his marketing plan. And that plan has failed.

Are you going to go to a dentist because you found a coupon in the mail? So why would you go to a "wealth manager" who has to beg for business...maybe nobody does, which is why he is in the situation he is in now.

If it were me I'd do it.. hint HINT!

And then I'd change the name of the company to something like "Centurion Finance" or "Solidus" to convey the sense of INTEGRITY, security, stability, honesty, etc. You know, things you expect from a financial firm. Instead of the stupid pyramid as my logo I'd use an image of a golden roman coin as below. If of course the names and logos not copyrighted.. I'd finish with any flashy ostentatiousness, formulate a solid business plan, get an older mentor or partner and do things conservatively and by the book.

But hey.. that's just me.. and before I did any of the above, I'd close this chapter and pay the man (even call and arrange a staggard payment system).

If you google him, you find a press release about him, with a picture of his white porsche. I have owned a 911, and it was a wonderful car. Too bad guys like him gave porsche owners a bad name.

The press release was completely unprofessional in its writing and it was more than indulgent--this is why no serious newspaper ran the story. In the press release, it spoke of his Porsche and certain personal things in his life. Kevvie does not know the line between news and business on the one hand and faux celebrity and puffery on the other hand.

The fact that he knows no line between the two is due to one of two things: (1) he is really dumb or (2) his ego is so large, he can do no wrong.

Me? I have seen a number of these guys. I think it is a combination of the two. I think Kevvie is dumb. There is no question about that. But I also think he covets. He covets the success of others and thinks he deserves them. In truth, he is just a pretender.

Not even a "has bee," he is a "never was."

If I'm not mistaken, not surprisingly, the car is a regular Carrera with a GT3 body kit. I believe this is par for the course.

Middle pic "looks" like The Charleston Regional Business Journal did a story...

Another Google Search: use his name and the Charleston Regional Business Journal to find the "REPRINT". The information is the same, likely exactly the same, as on his website.

BUT, if you look up the Charleston Regional Business Journal and try searching for Kevin Hedges in their search field, NOTHING comes up...which, using my training and experience, leads me to believe his "article" is actually a paid advertisement that he paid the CRBJ to run. Nothing wrong with advertising your business, but making it look like someone "credible" ran a story on you?

I get the purpose, it's marketing after all. But to me, Kevin made it look like a magazine wrote an article about him...when in fact he wrote an article about him, and paid for it LOL. What is "the trade"? Business in general? I have no idea, since I'm not in business...I get into other people's business :)

I think it would mean more if OTHER people say you're great...not as much when YOU say you're great ;)

I can't believe people like Kevin actually exist! He really dug a hole for himself.

All this made me wonder: how does one become a wealth manager?

I can't imagine someone straight out of college managing other people's (considerable amounts of) money.
So how do you work your way up to the point of being a wealth manager? In other words: has Kevin's career goal been a pipe dream from the get go? Just curious.
Nobody offer me their money, I can barely manage my own! :)

And for Karl: if anyone here is serious on taking over the 900$ debt I would gladly like to donate my share. I think shops like Karl's deserve it.

    Best, Peter

The last thing I want to do is to criticize legitimate, hard working money managers. But, when I think of "wealth management" I think of cheezy salesmen, preying on widows and orphans to make marginal investments that generate big fees.

Why use the term "wealth management" when the terms "money management" or "investment management."

Wealth management to me implies that someone who is not wealthy wants to become wealthy so they hire a wealth manager. And if you are managing the money of someone who is NOT wealthy, are you really a wealth manager.

OK, this thread is long. I am officially calling out Kevvie Baby.

Kevin, come on this board and explain yourself. Other posters, join me in calling out this rat. Apparently he is in a hole hiding. Afraid to face the truth found on this board.
