LOL, no surprise there. So the Hair Pin GTO is 54809, right? Or am I wrong on that? Just trying to get my facts straight.
Not that I need to explain my self to any of you, but you need to re-read the earlier posts regarding the car seen by Paul S at Dick Lovett Cardiff. I also personally saw this car, photographed it and it's chassis number and can categorically confrim that it was not 52741. As I stated earlier, the car Paul S and my self saw was at Dick Lovett's Cardiff premisis for service work and was put on display in their showroom. The car is not for sale. As for 52741, this car is the ex-Adrian Newey car, I never disputed that. This car (52741) is for sale with Dick Lovett Swindon, about sixty or so miles from Cardiff. Paul
I just saw Joe Sackey on TV... Wealth on Wheels - Concorso Italiano episode, speaking with Keith Martin on 288 GTOs. Very cool and well done!
I get this channel called "Wealth" and it was a show on the Concorso Italiano. When the 288 GTOs were profiled, Keith Martin and Joe said a few words about the cars. It was pretty cool...
FYI: http://refined-marques.com/ferrari-288-gto/ Dealer is a FChat sponsor: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?u=110122
FWIW I don't see it on their site: http://www.dicklovett.co.uk/Dealers/Ferrari/Ferrari-Group-Used-Cars/all/0&
They must have recently sold it then, but I'm 99% sure that's the website the photos were lifted from.
Try this link: http://www.dicklovettspecialistcars.co.uk/CarsforSale/ And, yes, the pictures here http://refined-marques.com/ferrari-288-gto/ are certainly taken outside Dick Lovett Swindon. Paul
Holy cow! I spent almost 3 weeks reading this thread, word for word and I did learn a lot about the 288 GTO. Big thanks to all the contributors in this thread, especially Joe & Marcel! Kudos to you, guys! I have to admit that I overlooked this model but after reading all the posts and seeing all those pictures, it certainly is the BEST looking Ferrari, for me at least! Joe, can't wait for your book! How can I have it signed? Should I order it first then send it to you or you'll have signed copies for sale? Many thanks!
The book is delayed till mid-2102, or perhaps even 2013. But it will come out, good things take time. Veloce Publishing in the UK and Amazon will be the source. As with the Miura book, anyone who wants it signed can simply Fedex it to me and I'm happy to oblige and return it. All in good time and Thank You for the interest!

From a fellow f-chatter I got a CAD file for the GTO body, it is based on a Pininfarina blueprint with measurements taken by a CNC arm so it is quite accurate. It was a paper drawing he bought on ebay, scanned and cleaned up and then he made different layers for every panel. Very cool! But he asked me to keep it for my self so I can only tease with some screenshots. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Speaking of bodywork. The body on my 288 doesn't seem to sit perfectly level. Not sure how I noticed but I had it checked and the chassis and suspension are ok but its 8mm higher at the back on one side. I only know of one up other and I checked this and it was 11mm off. Is this just the tollerances to which hand built cars where made back then? (which is what I am being told and am told it is the same on F40's)
