The first thing you asked sounds like the oil filter housing. It is a canister filter. The second, in Italian, "corpo sfiata olio" Body sfiata oil. Sfiata= v. wind, air out .
I worked as a caddy at Royal Dublin Golf Club in the summer of 1973 to pay for a trip to the London Motor Show in October. I wanted to see the Countach. Well, not alone was early green car there, but Mr Lamborghini UK, Roger Phillips, treated this middle-class student as a valued or potential customer. He let me play around in the car and chatted with me for ages. He then took me into the 'office' on the stand and offered me drinks ! I was blown away. I hade been in snail-mail contact with both the factory and the UK concessionaires for many years previous to this and both had kindly sent me lots of brochures and stuff, all of which I stll have. But I was not expecting this treatment ! With all the talk these days on the various fora about the Countach, I though these might be of interest. The first, as you can see, is Mr Roger Phillips' business card. What you may not see is that it is metal ... a kind of brushed aluminium. Most unusual. I still have it in my wallet. The green car photo was probably sourced on this forum. Lastly, the 2 sides of a UK flyer from 1972. Interesting to note the pre-sales info on the Countach, its possible price and the photo of the LP500. The following year, 1974, there was some turmoil ( not sure if was in Italy or just UK ), but when I called to see about the cars for Earls Court, Mr Phillips indicated that there might not be a stand at the show at all. However, he invited me to visit the 3 orangy red cars ( Countach, Jarama and Uracco ) at a small garage in Downer's Cottages in Clapham. A quick taxi ride and I had a private viewing. Wow. I posted one shot some time ago on this thread. Fortunately, the admin stuff was sorted and I saw the cars again on the Earls Court stand a few days later. A little bit of my Countach history I hope you all enjoy. All I need now is an LP400 Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
just had my 2 door-struts rebuilt by a local guy in Vancouver BC. Doors now raise on their own without a "helping hand"! Cost = $45 each!!! He can rebuild any type of strut from anything (even Ferraris...yikes) give Frank a call @ 604 589 1200 or 1 888 589 1208 or his website...strutwise.com
Testing testing 1, 2... Ok Joe, I've asked a friend of mine. You are correct. He said that F-Chat will automaticly reduce quality if picture sized are over 200 kb. So besides the maximum pixels size, 800 width, you also have to set your resize tool from perhaps "perfect" to "also very good" when you safe them. If it's under 200 kb, it's OK. This picture looks a bit better then the previous one I uploaded. Cheers, Marcel Image Unavailable, Please Login
Could this be the same color as the '88 that was for sale at the St. Louis Car Museum about a year ago? This was the PPG paint sticker from that car: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139264244&postcount=18 http://www.carpictures.com/Lamborghini/Countach-LP-5000-QV-Awesome-Car-Great-Color-Horrid-Bumpers-1988-09L3C420513173 Mike
Aren't you the gentleman selling the red on tan and also the black F.I. car on ebay? Do you plan to keep one for yourself or is sales your main interest. Very nice examples you seem to have for sale..(if it is you, of course)
Thanks so much!! I like to have a full understanding of what I am building. The instructions are not very accurate in its descriptions. Can you tell me where the oil line runs to from the filter, up the right side of the engine bay, then to ??? On my model it just goes to nowhere. I am replacing these lines with braided ones... Thanks again P.S. Here's a better link to the model album (public link) http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2436649708406.128325.1016610758&type=1&l=6e38324b5d
Hi Folks, Here is an inquiry from our friend Michel & Neldo Levy in France : I would like to ask our USA Classic Lamborghini community if someone can help with the origin of a Countach LP400 - lost and forgotten for around twenty years - that we have acquired and that we are restoring. S/N is 1120114, and it has a plate mentioning that it was imported by an Albert Lewin in the Usa : see attachment. I have no record archive about this gentleman (This name only r eminds me of a film director, but the dates do not match...). Any information about the early history of this car would be of course, appreciated ! **** Albert Lewin **** in USA ???? Thanks in advance for them... Image Unavailable, Please Login

I don't mind at all, glad you like it. Being a humble newbie & non owner, I didn't want to distract from this great thread It took me awhile to read through all 500+ pages, lol I do appreciate the help though
This is in no way trying to steal any thunder, that is one well done, detailed engine. Keep the pics coming, we all love these projects. I saw this a few weeks back and your model reminded me of it. This is absolutely amazing. Hand made functional miniature V-12...... http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=31363
WOW! Thanks for sharing that Peter. Simply amazing craftsmanship!!!! Reminds me of this guy who did the fully functional Ferrari 330 P4. I got to see this one year at Concorso. My jaw was on the ground: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxYRa0pqxlw[/ame] Mike
There is some amazing talent out there! The detail on that model is incredble, it blew me away when he started it. Thanks Mike.
That kind of scale model of Lambo's carburator V12 would be superb add on the glass vitrine! I have quite often gived some thought's, why anyone who manufacturers models; doesn't specialise engines?! I defenitely would be interested those ones! I think that isn't so easy to build even the scale was 1/12 ? Seemed quite difficult, many parts and detailing seems to be high?
