    Welcome!

At the risk of teaching you to suck eggs, it's probably not a good idea to drive far or fast on the original tires if they are over 30 years old - the rubber will be dangerously hard. I put Yokohamas on my (also red, also tan) Silhouette which seem to work fine.

    Congrats,

If you need tires I have two sets.

    one set yoko
    one set p7

The car ran very well. Very few things missing... a few, but I am sure you can work around them.

Those cant be the original tires, silhouette never came with those F spec tires. nevertheless its a good idea change them if you plan to do any spirited driving if the tire is 10 years old.

Can you still buy 285/40 - 15 tires? I searched several tire shops on the Internet without any luck. Any suggestions?

you may want to contact P300V8 or Jonathan... i think they will have a line on yokohomas (advans) for you. an alternative size that fits would be a road legal michelin TB tarmac rallye tire. at lest one silhouette is running a set and an another a jalpa. the P7 stopped production long ago.

    best of luck

After a lot of looking I ended up with Yokohama AS01 "S drive" on the front and Yokohama AVSi on the rear. These are therefore not identical front and rear (I couldn't find any manufacturer who produces the same tyre in both 285/40VR15 and 195/50VR15 sizes ), but are pretty similar tread patterns. I ended up buying them directly from Yokohama in the UK - I suggest you speak to Paul Cox at Yokohama who is very helpful. No idea where you would find them in the US.

If you are changing the tyres, my recommendation would also be to put the original Bravo wheels into storage and buy a set of replicas from Eurospares: while they aren't cheap, you will worry less about them than if you leave the Bravos on, and only a very discerning observer will notice the difference.

    Good luck!

You can try www.fastcarspares.com These are ZRs. I don't know how the price compares but they will ship to US.

Jonathan is 100% correct about the replica from Eurospares. I will be buying a set for my Countach and displaying the originals with correct year P7's.
I do have 6 Bravos in total. Spare front and rear.
BUT save & protect those originals!!!!

im surprised they offer the AVS in 285's and not in 195's which was an extremely popular size in those days. one can possibly fit a taller 205 50 15 avs (if they have it) which i reckon would be a better fit. 8x15 is plenty of rim to mount a 205 tires. does anyone know if the bravo equipped jalpas came with the 205 instead of 195's? i seem to recall they did

i thought the eurospares bravos were out of production? what discerning differences are there other than they have a smoother surface and larger radius around the edge of 5 port holes? the rim section looks tighter also. ive never seen a set in the flesh, are the offsets identical to the real ones? i have had a few campys one being a set 12x15 and they are light! i reckon the eurospares will be heavier.

    cheers

WOW I cannot believe they want 800 pounds a piece for the Yoko AVS 285/40-15

I paid half of that for my Yoko AVS same size.

There are other places to get them as well. I can fill you in off line about them.

You can also fit as stated above, 205s and even 215s on the fronts of the SIL.

IMO I would leave the bravos on the car. I have mine on both Jalpas and they are fine. As long as you are not wreakless you should not have any problems.

Also, I am not sure those wheels are still available from Eurospares. I have asked about them a few times and never gotten a straight answer. You have to call them as I do not think a single email has ever been returned from them.

They now have a lot more of the Bravos listed on their site, so they may have either originals or reproductions. Hard to tell if pricing is per whhel or per set on the one listing. but at 1400 pound each that gets very costly for a set.

The tyre price is £900 or $1210 per pair delivered US
The price of the Bravos is for a set of four rims
The Bravos were in stock a couple of months ago....I bought a set.

If I remember correctly the Bravos fitted to the Jalpa were made by Tecnomagnesio and the ones fitted to the Sihouette and LP400S were made by Campagnolo.
