Yes I know the answer but why.....? I am still new to all this but my 2012 458 already has over 1000 miles and I am barely home to drive it..... My dealer tells me to keep the miles at 1500 to 2k per year if I am worried about resale, other than that, drive the snot out of it...
Does the smile of driving the car ever come off your face??

Ya keep the 458 at 1000 miles or less then I can buy it in 3 yrs for maybe 100,000 less if this economy keeps going or God forbid same people are re-elected. I WISH I could sell my house so I could order my new 458 spyder and be in the same boat. Until then just have to keep the Modena and drive it. Have a nice day and enjoy your cars as they were to be driven.

No, not even with the more lowly models ;)

I've averaged ~4K miles/year over the last 25 years and come out way, way ahead $-wise (and smile-wise IMO) compared to someone "worried about resale". I could literally just give my TR to a junkyard (which may be the eventual outcome anyway) and be at about half the $/year cost that the previous Owner paid.

Lol, you have to remember Mount Isa is not a very big city. Only 25,000 people live here, but more importantly it's only 3 miles from one side of town to the other.

So driving 7000 km's in my "3rd car", is pretty good. I have only driven a combined 10,000 km in the other 2 cars I own in the last 14 yrs of driving.

So I actually have driven the Ferrari A LOT in just over 6 yrs of ownership, if you really think about it. :)

I've been putting about 1,800 miles a year on mine for the last 2 years. It's now nearly 17 years old and has 3,600 miles. The guy before me stored it for the *entire* 15 years he owned it.

Got my '77 308 GTB in Jan with 40,900 miles. Did some work (hoses, tune, etc) till April. Now at 44,000+. Over 3,000 miles in 7 months.

I would rather have a well maintained high mileage car than a garage queen any day.

I've got 30k in 5 years on my 430. Most people buy these then get worried about the money. If the depreciation bothers you, buy a corvette.

I dont' worry about mileage and resale value. It will be worth what it's worth when I sell. They are meant to be enjoyed and I do.

    Someone else on here said:

"Not driving your Ferrari so that you don't hurt the resale value is like not sleeping with your girlfriend so she will be more attractive for the next guy."

Does that make any sense?! Cars are meant to be driven!

Exactly. I bet you enjoyed each drive. Impressive mileage.
I wish I could average about 6k per year, or 15k like the guy above. Dont have the time personally and the weather doesnt cooperate long enough to log that many miles.
My view as well. If I lose money I lose money.

To me, there are several types of Ferrari owners ranging from ultra high income to the average car guy. From what I have seen, the more modest the income, the more the owner drives the car. There are exceptions, and I know a few of those too, but for the most part the owners who are at the more modest income levels seem to drive more. Maybe because it is something they don't look at as an investment. Maybe its because they didn't want a 69 Camaro, and realized for the same money you can get an entry level 308 or Mondial. Being from the more modest end, I really never thought I would be able to afford a Ferrari. But with proper planning, I was able to have it become a reality. With that, after 7 years of ownership, I have put about 25,000 miles on my car. If I have the time, I drive it. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Im of modest income and I want a 69 camaro and it would be an investment . 7 year 25k miles is not a lot of miles under your theory of modest income drivers...but it is much above the norm.

As a moderate income owner, I do all the maintenance myself, so if you take out down time for upkeep, and the fact I lose 3-4 months of driving for being in the northeast, I think the miles are on the higher end. And I would like a 69 Camaro, too. Just wanted the Ferrari more. Maybe one day will have both.
