Just read a twit saying that Gethin never led an entire lap in his F1 career yet won the Italian GP by the closest
margin

 

..."an entire lap" as I read it.

Must have been a thrilling win. He led a fraction of a lap to win at Monza.

I remember him well in F5000 - They came to Brands quite a lot back when I lived down the street.

Huh? To win the race you must be first past the checkered flag, and of story. [Many races have been won on the last turn...... With apologies if I'm missing what you're getting at.]

He was the last surviving driver in that pic.

 

I thought much the same, not many of the era passed of 'old age".....
