  1. I can still remember going to the AMC dealer in 1976. My parents bought a red on white & black Pacer. Those were the days when a car would start running a little rough, strangled by all of the emission stuff. My Dad would go "blow out the carbon" on the freeway. I would be standing on the passenger seat without a seat belt eating a pop tart. :) I still have the owner's manual & brochures on it.

I have another question for my model. I've seen the rear springs with a red stripe painted on them, but do the front springs also have a colored stripe on them? If so what color?
    Thanks!

I agree that #1121310 was the last S2 and was in the Netherlands but I've it as a red car (last seen in 1994). This silver car is #1121168 in my records.

The picture was taken is the AMC Rambler museum in North Holland. There's also a white Jalpa in the collection.

Now that i've finished the car, i'd like to get rid of some spare Countach rims I have. Please PM me if you need to buy:

    1, Original set Bravos,
    2, Original set Route OZ,
    3, Reproduction LP400 rear rims (100% correct).

Also have a set of PZero's and P7 rears....

Well, I'm hoping to have it completed by spring, depending on how much time I have to work on it. Admittedly the body is not 100% perfect, but its the only 1/12 scale model kit I know of. (about 4 brands, but all the same molds) It is basically the same as the more common Testors brand LP500S kit (advertised in many car magazines in the '80's) It's a pretty nice kit, but a shame the body isn't spot on considering how well detailed it is. I've only added a few small items, such as wiring ect
Thanks for the comments especially since I'm quite amateur at building models

Here's my thread on it on another forum, but more pics can be seen on the previously posted album

Thanks! I'm using several photos from this thread as reference, and there seem to be various types of fuel lines shown. I was quite tempted to try making braided lines...perhaps on the next one. I am also still struggling to make a good looking air tube for the airboxes. Hate to leave them out!

Fabulous job you are doing......you appear to be better than "amateur" !! I spent most of my youth and a fair amount of my adulthood building models. I built that one several times (the original Doyusha molds were used by several companies as you say). That was the overall best Countach kit ever made IMO, despite the body imperfection (which is indeed noticable). Not an easy kit !!

In my opinion, the 1/24 Fujimi kits were the only models ever of any kind that got the Countach shape correct, and they are almost as good in detail (though not quite) as the 1/12 Doyusha. Interestingly, those models (and many, many others of other cars) taught me an awful lot about the mechanicals of the real things. That 1/12 Doyusha kit has the suspension down tight 100%... really impressive.
