I recently change bulbs under the console (fuel gauge, clock etc). It is very easy to get to, just two screws below the console, push the console downwards carefully and then you are there. The dash is a bit more tricky - you have to pull the upper heater fan indicators out and unscrew the screws behind them. I have not done this myself - but I found some notes about it on the net.

It might be nice to use LED:s but I think it is actually more cool to stay with the bulbs - they don't lit up instantly. They kind of "glow bright" during a short time instead. It feels much softer - more original.

However, when bulbs are impossible to find - then I would go for LED:s.

Magnum put together an excellent How to guide for replacing the bulbs in a 308 dash with LEDs. I also have done this along with other fchatters. I have provided the link that will get you started. If you decide to change over you will enjoy instruments that you can see at night and never leave your blinkers flashing during the day. There are some minor details that aren't in the write-up by Magnum but can be found if you use the search function. Good luck and there are others here that have been there and done that who I am sure will help you out along the way if you need it.

p.s. I have no experience with a 328 but I think the dash is the same or very close? At least the principles will be the same.

I did mine a 1988 GTS and the LED,s do NOT work like on the 308 diff lenses in the 328 on the dash instruments, the oil, clock, and gas gages the are ok. i had to add them on the side in the dash no big problem but this is the only way it would work.make sure you by the 5 sided LED,go on e-bay $6.00 for 10pcs .
PS the only work one way so plug it all in before reinstalling on you Bench, with a 12V powerpack.you also won,t have a dimmer
