Then again, it's probably a good thing we don't, my garage would look like Jay Leno's!

    WOW!

looks like a great active club. Cars look in good shape.

I guess the weather there is good for preservation of cars like out Southwest US?

The club is pretty young but they have a Bimmer fanatic at their helm, who uses every opportunity to get them together. They have a slalom in a couple of weeks. Central Iran (Tehran region) has very dry summers and wet winters. Southern Iran is (near the Persian Gulf) is extremely humid and its hard to find good cars there. Prior to the revolution, Iran was one of BMW's largest export markets. This is the club president and his all original Bauer E21. This was taken during one of our classic car road trips.

    Hi,

Great to hear from a fellow countryman. The E30 is one of the most sought after models by enthusiasts here. Your car would be a great hit. If you ever visit home, PM me so I can hook you up with the club. This 325 was used as the marshall car.

    Regards,

    Ramin

How did I miss this thread until now? I was involved in BMW sales from 1983 until 2000. I was salesperson, sales manager and then General Manager. Worked at Odessa Nissan BMW, Broncho BMW and last Moritz BMW in Arlington, Texas. Then I moved to Ferrari of Dallas......

I could give you many, many stories about the time I had with BMW, one being when I got the McLaren F1 for three days to drive, but I will not bore everyone with that again.. I actually won the National Championship of BMWNA as Most Knowledgable Sales Specialist in North America. Competed against over 5200 BMW specialists over a six month competition finishing at the national headquarters at Woodcliff Lake, NJ in a 12 person final competition.....Lots of fun to do......

I have owned many a BMW over the years but being in sales with them I had demos for the whole time and actually did not have to buy one but drove the best, especially after I became General Manager......750iL, M5, M3, M3 four door, M roadster, M coupe (shoe), 540i, 325ix. I know there were more but they just run together........Several of the photos are of some of my cars or cars identical to mine. Some were taken while in Germany at the BMW World Headquarters. Including the Z1 with the drop-down doors......And yes my Henna Red M3 when we went to Germany to pick it up European Delivery.........Fun, fun, fun...Well worth it.

I remember the first time I raised the hood of that 256hp inline six engine and saw the individual throttle plates the size of saucers and the roller bearing throttle linkage. So ahead of its time. It was a brute at the time. Great car. Had one as a demo for six months. I could only have one for six months or 3000 miles before having to turn it back in...........

    Very cool post, thanks!

I'm enjoying my latest BMW these days (a low mileage, well kept, 1987 518i E28). We just had a (very delayed) snowfall two days ago and it's a pure delight sideways! I can't believe how controllable these old BMW's are, so much more feel to them than the Audis and Merecedes' of the same era.
