Any Rolls Royce with a grille as crappy-looking as that is an absolute abomination, no matter how good or bad a car it may be.

 

Tough crowd.

 

Most of these "tough crowd" have never driven it (nor ever will) and have absolutely no idea what they talking about, besides repeating some bits they read in car mags.

 

That is a beautiful car in a great color.

I had the opportunity to test drive the new Ghost last year while shopping for a replacement for my Bentley. Frankly, it was an underwhelming experience. It was a lovely machine but I just didn't feel that is was worth the asking price. The interior, exterior and ride quality weren't any more impressive than an S-Class or 7-series. What stood out most was a lack of self-centering in the steering, which is very disconcerting in such a large and powerful car. Being forced to pull it out of every turn gave more of a "land yacht" feel as opposed to the more driver-focused feel that Rolls claims. In the end I decided to stick with Bentley. Howerver, I must admit that the Phantom Coupe is growing on me.......

 

The round corners make the ghost look small. Not a fan of the grill either. And I have heard the phrase "glorified 7 series" many times.

 

The new 7 Series has a terrible interior...I think RR should drop the Ghost and let BMW make their new 7 series with the Ghost interior. I looked at a Ghost at the dealer the other day and for me as a former Arnage T owner it is just too expensive to be based on a car that costs 3.5 times less (although they say it only shares 20% with the 7). With the Arange you got questionable driving dynamics but stunning materials on every inch of the car as well as exceptional paint. On the Ghost (which I have not driven) I imagine you get a better driving experience but the interior is lesser than any Rolls Royce I have ever seen which is a real shame. Also the instruments looks cheap (where the Phantom has some of the nicest Smith style clocks I have seen on any modern car) and the exhaust pipes are awfully prominent for a Rolls.

I have ridden in a Phantom multiple times in Hong Kong and I really appreciate that car but the Ghost just does not excite me at all for $250k.

 

$250 is just the start. I have a Phantom and did not want the exhaust out the bumper. Not a sports car.
