Armen.... It's an injury- not really his fault. Maybe overtraining was, but...
Keep his stock grade as an A++, he'll return as strong as ever.

Armen......don't you be dissing my boy! It's not like GSP has a long history of pulling out of fights. I certainly hope that as he ages, these injuries don't become more prominent.

I would LOVE to see Machida kick Jones' ass. It is very unlikely, but I will be rooting for him.

Miguel Torres - cut by the UFC for a really stupid tweet he sent out. I can't believe it - I was really looking forward to seeing him make his way back to title contention, which I think he was very close to. I never understood Twitter, I still don't, and will never "follow" anybody, as there is no one in this world whom I care to hear from on my phone, aside from loved ones, of course. Stupid.

Dang... Great fights tonight. Too much action to even comment on, but I'm starting to think Jones is going to go unbeaten if he retires in a timely fashion... Say 10 years... ;-)

Great fights even though all my picks got beat! Seriously i'm the worst! Yes, Jones will go unbeaten for as long as he wants!!! I can't see anyone out there that can beat him. I really thought Machida had a bit of a chance. But NO ONE else!

    Jones would lose if they put together the superfight that needs to happen;
Jon Jones versus Anderson Silva at 205lbs

How about Mir over Nog?!?! Beautiful win for Mir.

So, knowing your accuracy with your picks, that means Silva would win, just like I said.

I posted on this thread over a year ago that Jones would be unstoppable - no one is beating him anytime soon, and I absolutely believe he would destroy Silva. I think Silva is a monster, very technical and slick. Jones is still young and "learning" (hate to use that term), and he's just going to get better. That's a little bit of a problem for the UFC, now 3 divisions with fighters that won't lose (although I think Silva might not going to stick around too much longer, we'll see).

Really bummed about Big Nog - one of my all time faves. Stupid move on his part though. Can't stand Mir, I loved when Lesnar smashed his face in.

Torres has fallen far - he should have known better. The comment was lame, I am ok with the cut.

Only way Jones vs Silva will happen (in my opinion) is if Silva tells the UFC he is retiring and they want to cash out with 1 final fight. As much as it pains me to say, Silva will probably lose that fight and his stock wont be worth much if and when that happens. I draw a parallel to what's happening with Pac vs Mayweather... Floyd has nothing to gain and everything to lose, just like Silva.

    Just my opinion.

Oh - I think it's time for Werdum vs Mir to happen. 2 of the best HW submission specialists ever. That fight makes the most sense right now. Or Mir vs Cain.

+1 on all your points - Silva v. Jones won't happen anytime soon. Mayweather is dodging Pacquaio.

I want Mir / Cain first, but I'd be stoked with Mir / Werdum. I'd also (still) like to see Bigfoot / Overeem...

I am a little surprised that everyone here would pick Jones over Silva. Silva has been proving his dominance for a heck of a lot longer than Jones has........how can anyone count the Spider out? Silva's list of wins over the very top guys is a heck of a lot longer than Jones......

You definitely can't count Silva out - he's too experienced and talented.

That being said, Jones is bigger, stronger, younger, and just a pure athlete (think Jason Pierre-Paul from the NY Giants - guy has only been playing football for 4 years or so and he's already a monster, just an awesome athlete).

Jones has absolutely DESTROYED everyone in front of him - some great fighters, it hasn't been close. That DQ against Hammill was also a crock - he's 16-0 from my perspective.

I just think he's got too much for Silva. Sonnen - a wrestler - really exposed Silva. Jones - a wrester (and a better one than Sonnen - has FAR more tools, I don't think it would even be close.

Aside from Sonnen, hasn't Silva pretty much DESTROYED everyone put in front of him as well? And his list of opponents is lengthier and more distinguished than that of Jones.

If Sonnen went to 205lbs, I think he would do exactly to Jones what he did to Silva. The difference is that Jones doesn't have the level of BJJ that Silva does, so Sonnen would probably GnP Jones to a win. No one, and I mean no one, can defend the TD ability of a guy at Sonnen's level. Not Silva, not Jones.

I really don't think A. Silva would beat Jones. I wish he could but Jones is too much!!! Plus A. Silva (yes he did very good @ 205) But he's fighting the Champ. I could see Jones being the next Michael Jordan. Seriously. I'd be too nervous watching that one.

I'd say that Jones' competition was much better - compare last 3-4 fights:

    Jones
    Machida
    Rampage
    Rua

    Silva
    Okami
    Belfort
    Sonnen

All of Jones' opponents were former titleholders in the division. Only Belfort was in Silva's. And, Sonnen more or less pummeled Silva - he got caught. I will say that's why you can never count Silva out.

Jones wrestling is on par with Sonnen's. I'd go so far to say it's "better", but I have no way to prove that, and Sonnen is very decorated (as is Jones, but not at the same level).

We'll never know until they get in the ring. But as a guy that wrestled, trained BJJ and Muay Thai (and rolled with some professional fighters), my own opinion is that I've never seen the likes of Jon Jones - he's probably the scariest guy I've ever seen. In fact, I posted once before that he's the one guy I'd NEVER get in the ring with because he's that devastating.

    The reason why Silva's last 3 opponents aren't as impressive as Jones' is because Silva has cleaned out the division. The last 3 for Jones are the ONLY impressive wins he has. Let's look at before Silva's last 3 wins;
    Maia
    Griffin (@ 205)
    Leites
    Cote
    Irvin (@ 205)
    Hendo
    Franklin
    Marquardt
    Lutter
    Franklin
    Leben

Jones has a long way to go before his list is anywhere close to being as impressive as Silva's.

Please, oh please UFC, make this fight happen!

Anyone watch Strikeforce last night? Pretty good card overall.

KJ Noons looked pretty good in his win, as did Moussasi. Man, that Cyborg looks unbeatable in her division. She could probably give a few men a run for their money. I would say she is more dominant in her division than any man is in any division.

The Melendez/Masvidal fight was very exciting to watch. I knew Masvidal was one tough SOB, and he really proved that last night. Very good back and forth between the two, with Melendez never stopping on the offensive. I would have liked to see some ground work, but I give big props to Melendez for his confidence in his standup and going toe-to-toe with someone whose bread-and-butter is their stand up.

^^^I went to it last night. Pretty good card overall. The prelims were a bit boring but the main TV card was entertaining. Thank you for giving Moussasi props (i know you did it for me). So from now on, i'll be nice to your GSP (even though I love GSP also).

    With barely a mention, it seems 3 previously released UFC fighters are back in the UFC;
    -Efrain Escudero
    -Fabricio Werdum
    -Gabriel Gonzaga

I am happy to see all 3 of them back. I really hope Gonzaga can get back to his winning ways. I am not too worried about the other two.

Yep, with the 3 fighters dropping out of UFC 142, Gonzaga will get his comeback opportunity. I wonder which Belfort will show up.

Anyhoo, getting fired up about UFC 141. I <3 Phan, Fitch and Cerrone. I think Overoid is going to impose his will on Brock but we shall see.

    Happy to see Werdum back...

Fired up for UFC 141 as well. Diaz / Cerrone is gonna be sick - I'm pulling for the Cowboy, he's a bad dude!

Sylistically, Overeem is a problem for Lesnar since Lesnar has zero standup. If Lesnar takes him down, he could have his way, but he can't trade with him.

    Should be exciting.
