Thanks!!! One pass that has always stuck in my memory is Mansells pass on Piquet back in '86 or '87 at Circuit Paul Ricard on the outside through a long sweeping right hand turn. I have it on tape but cannot find it on YouTube.

That was in Austria and damn I loved that track :(. I have the race on tape in storage but if memory serves it was when Paul Ricard had all the blue run-off area, solid not striped. I believe the outside pass was made at Saint-Beaurne?

...and when nearly the whole width of the track was for overtaking! :( some say this is the golden F1 era, but i can't agree, i miss the "action" of '80s and '90s F1 :)

I wouldn't claim we're in any "golden era" but the racing is pretty darn close today.

Back in the 80's and '90's if we remove the rose-tinteds we find very little overtaking (surprise! ;)) and often only a few cars on the lead lap come the end........ What is this "action" to which you refer? :)

    Cheers,
    Ian
