Now available for rent in HD
I wasn't able to see it in the theatre so when I saw your post tonight, I bought it on iTunes. What an incredible film. One of the best things I have seen in a long time!
Anyone seen the movie for sale on DVD, or BluRay? I am looking for the US version only. There are Portuguese and Italian ones available, but I can't find the full US english version yet?
Right here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=senna&x=0&y=0
Is the movie available on regular DVD (USA or CAN versions only)? The amazon site says Blu Ray, I do not have a blu ray player.
Awesome! Seen this movie atleast 3 times now.. I really hope it does win an Oscar. I'm waiting anxiously for the blu ray copy to come out
Here ya go and I do not have BluRay either, we should be fine: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=sr_1_1?nodeId=3193231&ie=UTF8&qid=1323954875
Lots of the reviews on Amazon point to the movie not working on US DVD players. Careful what you buy.
Thanks for the Netflix heads up. Watched it last night. Hard to watch the end. What an amazing movie about racing, finally something worthy of the sport.
Awesome movie on every level!! I hate to be a contrarian, but was anyone else bothered by the way they portrayed the start of Brazil 91? Sennas victory there was incredible and it is a great chapter. But, from the first time I saw the film, it bugged me that they show the cars leaving for the recon lap as if they are starting the race. It is kind of a nit, but the rest of the film seems to be so perfect. Might be the best racing movie ever made. (even with the gaffe at about 53:00) Mark
Denied! At least Senna won some other awards, so its popularity is not in vain. It deserved to at least be nominated by the Academy...but too bad, I guess racing just doesn't have the universal appeal to movie critics.
AFAIK, it's only (legally) available as a rental right now - Either from iTunes (valid for 30 days and/or 24 hours from when you start watching) or streaming from Netflix. The DVD's should be out "soon" though it seems. Cheers, Ian
A truly great movie. What did you all think about the treatment of the Prost rivalry? Balanced? I feel the film comes down a bit too heavily on the evil French Prost-Balestre conspiracy, bending rules and generally treating Senna unfairly, but I don't remember the whole story... Any experts?
