Andy: I'm not sure Hunter S Thompson's life should be a blueprint for any of us. After all, he had a lifelong abuse of alcohol, LSD, mescaline, and cocaine (among other substances), and while suffering a bout of health problems, he committed suicide in 2005.
Joe posts pic of 1121002... Someone goes "ooo"... Joe goes "How'd you like to see it?"... Someone else goes "ooo"... Joe goes "How'd you like a drive in it?"... I'm sensing a trend... Maybe the next time someone goes "ooo" he's gonna say "How'd you like to own it?"
Assuming the green Museo car is priceless and will never reside outside the factory, are the Wolf Modificato LP400's and LP400S 1121002 the most valuable Countach variants on the planet? Most valuable Lamborghinis full stop? Discuss.

Very hard to find period images. Here is one of 1120202 showing short shifter and F1 steering that all the Wolf cars had. Image Unavailable, Please Login
1120202 had the public address system so he could speak to pedestrians (!) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well-known images by Ranier Schlegelmilch (in blue tee at bottom) from the period in 1976. Short-shifter & F1 steering again in evidence. I spoke to Ranier and he said "that day went VERY fast." Whatever that means! Pics were in Cannes I recall.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Personally I think the Wolf cars are important in Lamborghini's history because he personally funded the development of the LP400 into the Countachs beyond. He saved the factory I think. Supercars today all descend from the principles he employed. He told me he looked at his F1 car and knew that the LP400 had to have parallel-linked suspension, spoke to Dallara and the rest is history. Wolf in the Pits at the Long Beach Grand Prix 1978. The Wolf cars, particularly the Modificato LP400's 0158 and 0202, have to be the ultimate Countach variants. To own and drive one would be like having Leonardo's sketches for "The Last Supper" hanging in your dining room...
It is 0148. I agree those are very special. Of the two 202 is the better car. But for me 1002 embodies everything Dallara & Wolf wanted in a F1-inspired Countach. And in that signature Wolf Racing dark blue... a thing of beauty.
I received this poster from CAR magazine awhile back, is this your car as well? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Indeed, 0148, fat fingers. Speaking of The Red One, thanks to Japan, that has to be one of the the most modeled single specific cars that wasn't driven by Batman or the Duke Boys. Also, 0202 intrigues me. You see photos of it both with and without the crazy swoopy side mirrors I believe it currently wears. Do we know from whence those mirrors came?
Interesting that with all the angles at work on the perspective of this photo, the Testarossa looks distorted, yet the Countach still looks "right".
True, however, a TR almost never looks good in pictures. In this case it appears as though the photographer used a wide-angle lens. That'll distort the closer/center object even more.
This is #1121266. Ex USA, when it arrived in Holland in 1989 it was still white, with white interior, and fitted with USA bumpers etc. Ciao! Marcel
