    I definityvely would not do that....; leave the engine as it is imo . :)

    Hi Mel, when rebuilding the Testarossa's engine why buy the OEM valves and pay the F-pimp what they think it's worth. Why not instead get these valves rather that the OEM?

    Do a search on "SI valves" and read those ~40 threads. Without having done that (since it's your homework ;)), my recollection is that they are well-liked and well-known and have been successfully used by many -- just a thought...

    I've just looked up the price for inlet and exhaust valves from Ferrari....OUCH.

    I can see the advantages of the Si valves now, what a cost saving for 48 valves!

    Steve is right. A little trade secret....most manufacturers send the specs out on parts to be made. Ferrari is no different. The valves can come from any source as long as the specifications are met. There is a book within the industry as to all the vales made in the world and by whom they are made. By the book and see how little you pay for something when you know who makes it. Ferrari competes just like GM & Ford. Best price gets the job.

    Hi sorry Mel, maybe I should have put it a bit more clearly. Apologies.

    I see Newman uses the stainless steel valves in his rebuilds. So I think it is the way to go when replacing the valves.

    What I would like to know Steve is, whether you and/or Newman would replace your OEM valves with these? According to my research they are the same specs as the OEM but the only difference is that they are SS. So they are superior than the OEM?

    No information, but, based on 30 seconds of homework, I would use them. If you do an internet search on "21-4N stainless steel" or "EV-8 stainless steel" it gives a lot of hits about these materials being used for valves in high performance engines by reputable suppliers.
