Actually, Emilio posted this one over a year ago in the SE30 thread, and I had been looking for it since. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139661995&postcount=640
Hello All Here is a book that I bought for my 2 year old son last year. I have always been a huge Lamborghini fan and we gave our child the middle name of Ferruccio. This book is written in Italian, was autographed by Ferruccio and given to a Lamborghini executive. If anyone has any information on this book, it would be greatly appreciated. I read here that they may have only made 150 of the first addition. I also read that these books were never in circulation only given to executives or friends and customers of Lamborghini. I also read that the 2nd editions did not have the Lamborghini bull. 1st picture is of the box. 2nd picture is of the book and the box 3rd picture is of the spine with only Tonino's name on it and the title. 4th picture is the back of page 2 of the book-this page is not part of the bound book, but it is evident that this page was added to the book (glued professionally). It says IIa Eddizione, which leads me to believe it is a 2nd edition; which makes no sense if the 2nd editions did not have the bull 5th picture is Ferruccio's marker autograph. 6th picture is Ferruccio's printed signature. I hope you enjoy these pictures, I look forward to reading this book to my son when he is older. If anybody has more details of this book, or would like other pictures of the book, please let me know. Written & produced by Tonino. 1st ever book about Ferruccio's story, then the followers are similar in content but not format (smaller), I have all of them as well ! Given to some employees, managers, close friend as well as to Renazzo's priest !!!
Thank you Emilio and Oliver for your feedback. Do you know how many of these first additions were done? Oliver, is yours autographed as well? Thank you Jean-Louis
Jean Louis, Mr. Lamborghini may have signed your book on the roof of my Urraco or possibly on the front hood of his Miura SV! He later signed my car! This was back in 1988. At the gathering there was also Mr. Iacocca & wife & Sandro Munari. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
YES,you are right it was for USA show rooms. I have the same vinyl poster, was a gift from a close friend in the factory. very large indeed. Beleive it was to do with marking the 30th anniversary, will have to jog the memory of my friend in the factory...
Indeed, my book was signed in 1991. See attachment. I'm very honored on page 117 there is a picture taken by me. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Downdraft That is so awesome, that Ferruccio signed your car. That must have been an amazing day. Hopefully, one day I will own a Lamborghini to enjoy as you have. As someone else pointed out, this book was done in 1990 so unfortunately that is not a photo of him signing the book. Rolando, The personalization that Ferruccio did on your book is awesome, I look forward to looking at the book tonight and seeing the picture you took. So it seams so far that there are 5 people on this board that have this book, with at least 2 people that have an autograph. Thank you Jean-Louis
Dear Jean-Louis, I know 2 other persons with a personalized book and 2 having inside the original signature of Ferruccio. The book was available at La Fiorita.
Hi all, The following shots are to show two aspects of my passion for Lamborghinis, collecting magazine articles and books. I have several thousand articles from all over the world, ranging in size from a few sentences about price increases, up to full-blown Lamborghini specials taking up many pages. The date range is from 1963 up to the present and covers all models and specials, although my greatest interest lies with the pre-1978 stuff. I have magazine articles from all over the world, including some in more exotic languages, (for a western-based person like me anyway), like Chinese, Russian and Arabic. Throughout the years I have been fortunate enough to have met many of the authors of the articles I have, and as such have some that are signed by people such as L.K.J. Setright, Karl Ludvigsen, Gavin Green and Eion Young, as well as an advert featuring Valentino Balboni that is signed by him. Sadly I never got to meet Ferruccio Lamborghini as he died shortly after I arrived in the UK, so nothing autographed by him. I did however, author one article, the piece in the last photo of articles about the Flying Star II. That fortunate event came about when I worked at CAR magazine in London in the early 90s. After tipping the editor off about the car's arrival in the UK, he arranged a photo shoot, during which I got to drive the car breifly, and then asked me to write the article, giving me full credit in the process. It was only ever published in a Japanese magazine (I cannot lay claim to translating it), but the bonus was I got paid for it as I would have happily done it for free, such was the buzz of seeing the car The 'bookshelf' picture shows how I've managed to store some of the articles in Clearfile books, but I still have to files the Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and Gallardo stuff, which takes up two full archive boxes and then some. I also have a modest stack of spare material I want to trade. It ranges from the 1960s to the present day and also covers all models. I used to carry on a regular trading partnership with the late Marcel de Lange, but that all stopped after his tragic death. Anyone interested in swapping material can PM me. The final shot is of another aspect of my Lamborghini passion, collecting books. I currently have just over 80 exclusively on the marque, several of them signed by the authors, but I have fallen behind over the last few years while I was studying, as a student's budget is not normally up to buying loads of hobby books. Enjoy. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a fantastic collection. Do you actually remove the article from the magazine and put it into clear covers? I keep the whole magazine which obviously takes up space, so over the last few years I've had to cut down on the collecting and now only buy certain articles. I first started around the time of the first green Countach many years ago, and I blame that car for my obsession! I thought I had a decent collection but you've got an amazing collection there.
Thank you Yes, I do remove the articles from the magazine, which takes a lot of time but frees up a lot of space, otherwise I would need to have a garage set aside just for the magazines and I don't think I would have a wife! One day I hope to catalogue my collection, but that is a task for another time.
Hello all, new here, although my name has been mentioned in the thread before Apart from having all known Lamborghini (factory issued) brochures and most other, a lot of books and over 290 different modelcars (1:43 scale) I thought I might share these items with you.
