I'm not a buyer (yet) but am interested to learn more about Jarama's. I know the basics but interested to hear some subjective thoughts of whats its like to live with and use a Jarama.

Apart from just plain liking them, they potentially fit this dream bracket of a italian v-12 of 60's complexity (ie not a more complicated 70'-80's car like a Ferrari 400), that is also not so expensive that it a collectors trophy piece, ie kind of a 1970's 330gt.

If i'm correct, the Jarama has a fairly short wheel base which to me suggests its more sporting than the boat like 400s and espadas. from

Have seen this one advertised and it looks nice enough, and i guess you can get 400's, 412's and espada of various qualities in the broad price range of 25-45k.

I have a v8 ferrari now which is great but also very frenetic, like a yipping dog, so somewhere down the line i'd like an interesting v-12, even if its what some would call a beater. I'd rather one that is good to drive, rather than cosmetically pristine and would by for driving and not the investment.

Love to your your passionate views. thanks

    Hi Guy,

You should investigate the dedicated thread here ...

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165696

As an owner of a late GT, I am pleased to see that people are finally realising that the Jarama is on of the last front-engined V12's and is worth a lot more than some of its earlier and many 'knockers'. It IS very heavy, is does drink a lot, but it is easy to drive, a great looker ( IMHO ), and a great intro to LamboLand. I will only part with mine if the value rises sufficiently for me to exchange it for a Countach ( ideally an LP400 )

Do your research. IMHO, the price being asked f0r 10070 seems very reasonable, today.
No doubt Olivier will be posting on this very soon

    Good Luck

    Peter

I have no experience with this car.

Like all relatively inexpensive 12 cyl GT cars, it is a good idea, to buy the best mechanical and cosmetic car you can locate. It will be a financially losing proposition, to significantly restore a car.

When you are ready, I have a real nice driver that I would sell. It is at Chad's and will be mechaincally sound.
Wish I could keep it but I just went to contract to purchase the property my shop is on. When all is said and done, I will have to look at all my cars and see which one(s) I should sell......................but not 1121006 :)

Thanks all the comments and suggestion - I will indeed read that thread.

Both the red and the black cars look wonderful - its a very purposeful looking car, total Italian muscle car really and that wheel option is so ornate.

When the time comes I will be back here to ask for a car!

I got mine from Roy earlier this year, it's an amazing value no doubt about it. Putzing around, it's a dog. heavy and slow. when you get up to speed, it's a v-12 lamborghini. a lot of muscle, especially when you swing up and through 4500 rpm. sounds great too. what i did not expect was the beautiful craftsmanship and luxury of the interior. the wood steering wheel, shift knob, the flat cockpit/dash, it's a great feast for the eyes when roaring down the road. i can't believe how little they command, they should be $100K USD cars easily, i think the styling puts it in a back seat to the espada and other 2+2 of the era, but at some point more car lovers will wake up. until then, i'm piling on the miles and smiles.

Wow, what a car, and that interior I could stare at it all day long!

So glad your happy with the car! For sure a stunning cosmetic color combo that I still miss today....enjoy all the miles!! AND I agree with you these are so under-valued and appreciated currently. They are NOT a 0-62 3 second sport car...but they for sure drive fantastic down the roadway...and at speeds over 60MPH just a solid get up and go power car for the long trips..but then again, looking back at the time they were produced and the reason they were produced, it performs the way it should. It is a luxury touring GT car with plenty of high speed power for the Gentelman/Wealthy owner of the day...and IMO have no where to go but up in value and appreciation.

Thanks Peter... #10070 seems to be a bargain, but I would pass my way as it has a non original sunroof, non original color scheme as it was Verde Antille/verde chiaro, but it is a real US car deliver to Bob Estes 22nd March 1971.

I will suggest more to buy Roy's Jarama GT, with close eyes, as I know personnaly the previous owner who kept it in good shape with no spare of cost, as true gentleman indeed !
