    Taffy,

Considering they had no budget limitations, you are thinking exactly like Wolf & Dallara thought in late 1977 :)

But we will have to find out to be sure..

Vito Bratta tells me that he rented the white Countach for his White Lion video from the same gentleman who owned all 3 (white/red/black) and supplied them for the Rain Man movie.

    Hope that helps..

Correct. The myth of 006, 148 & 202 having 4.8 liter engines, or having the same engine moved from car-to-car remains just that: a myth. However, Dallara Automobili was in the tuning business at the time and he mildly tuned anything that was sent to him, with the tuning restricted to the top end of the motor. Same with our former 1120056, and I thought it was a bit quick for an LP400..

I remember that video! I love White Lion, such an underrated band. I like their cover version better than Golden Earring's.

Its interesting to discover the existence if Countachs in far-flung places. This one is the only example on the Canary Islands (off the coast of North Africa) Tenerife registered TF.0690.BN

It amazes me how many people don't like the Anniv. model. I think it is awesome. I love the work that Mr. Pagani did with that one.

Agreed. The Annivesario is not only the last-of-the series, significant in itself, but it is a total redesign that gives the car a flowing 'speed' theme. Problem is most USA examples still have the ugly DOT bumper and side-markers on so most are not used to seeing them as they should be seen.

Added to that, the Annivesario by virtue of being the most developed version of the Countach is the best driving, most comfortable, best-handling & most reliable Countach bar none. Ask me how I know.. wait for the rebuttal by owners of other variants coming soon.

Not to mention, its the best value-for-money in a Countach right now, I think.

Below is the view you're most likely to get from another Countach :)

    Annivesario's road manners are impeccable.

Any Annivesario owners that have actually owned or extensively driven other Countach variants that agree?

A quotation from the same website:

"The original Countach is a landmark supercar. Every significant collection should have one; every enthusiast should experience one."

    I could not agree more.

The View from the front of your LP400 Periscopa or Low Body Generation car properly adjusted....as it "overtakes" the 89-90 Countach..value for the money in the current market..could not agree more.

No Periscopa or Low body is going to overtake an Annivaerary car in any speed contest. Visually for sure..

I like the looks of an Annivesario much better than that of an LP400. The LP400 is exiting to see in person because it is very rare, but to me it looks like a very boxy wedge.

I agree the early models do nothing for me....even at 1/2 the price of the QV & Anniversary's I would not buy one

Oh! It's a 'speed' theme. Makes sense. I always thought the theme at work there was "Hey strakes worked on the Testarossa, that is what we need for the Countach, but the Countach shall have more! Put them EVERYWHERE!" If it wasn't for the fuel fillers, you just know Horacio would have filled the door-duct with them too.

    Ok, I kid, I kid.

The Anniversario might be the best driving and the most reliable but IMO it is ugly, especially in the rear, where the Countach's beautiful upturned tail has become just a block of incongruous lines badly intersecting each other.

I have the same magazine. Never drove a newer Lambo, so I cant elaborate. I can tell you the Countach is an experience. It connects you with its crudness. I love driving it!!! :)

Well put. I for one, appreciate the looks of the Anniversario at most angles more than I did my 84 CT. Driving is no comparison. Remember the Anniversario was to be the send off and very limited edition. Lambo put much into this car. I love it!

    Guys,

Lets put things into real perspective. please !

IMHO, Horacio Pagani make a real balls-up of a unique artistic creation by Marcello Gardini.
The rear wheel arches of the LP400 alone tell it all.

The technical and esthetic evolution of the true Countach, thanks a lot to W Wolf input ( financial etc ) were very significant earlier, but you cannot really see an Anni as a real Countach, despite its virtues.

Its esthetic vices damn it !

To me, the Anni is a F******g mess ( from a purist point of view ). It looks like a kit-kar, regardless of its drivability 'virtues. etc.

Puzza di Chrysler input before the Diablo ?

Happy Hols to All and hoping Santa brings me an LP400

    Peter
