Inspired by (at least a little) the Esses at VIR! Cool!

The "crazy" turn, his daughter calls the banking. Great stuff!

absolutely beautiful. I've dreamt of doing the same thing myself. But then again I balk at the cost of repaving my driveway. :)

There's a guy here who made a small fortune from a software company and has his own kart track in his backyard.

With just one car on the track, one could run for several miles of "different" turns before repeating the same configuration of turns. He'll be able to reverse direction, etc in one long "hot lap" if he chooses.

Me too.. Although I'm just thinking about a piece of land in a cheap area and my own bulldozer... And build a shed and put a couple of turbocharged Subaru's in it along with a few dirt bikes... I would never get bored again. :D

I'm planning to do this in PA. 50-75 acres (mostly flat with a bit of woods to clear) with a 3-4 bedroom house not too far from NJ/NY for under $250k (many available), a pair of WRX's that are gutted, caged, and you're good to go. Nice little get away for a few bucks a month. Not much maintenance, low taxes, fun times.

He may be a member here - I know he has a Mondial Cabriolet.

Pretty cool guy - he owns an IMSA lites team and some other neat stuff. He's about to open a restaurant in Tribeca called Kutsher's.

He sold his Dad's bank - Trust Company of NJ for a pile of money.

I guarantee he doesn't know Bernie E. If he did, litigation would have shut down his dream until he forked over $25M.

Never thought you could have so much fun in one mile. But no room for error, especially on that banking.

Congratulations to this man for persistence.

this may be the way of the future i suspect......with the ever 'over' enforced public roads, it may be the only viable option for our go-fast cars :)

i've always loved the idea of going to the ascari track someday.....curves duplicated from many famous racetracks all in one, very kool

    http://www.ascari.net/

someday my 'back yard' will have such a track....a duplicate of monaco f1 track is the dream! :D

Heard recently of a farmer in Eastern NC who is building his own ~ 1.5 mile track on his several-hundred-acre farm. The photos look nice and I believe paving is to be completed soon, if not already. My understanding is that he does intend to keep it very private- just family and a few close friends. (sigh)
