Guys, looks like we can have a drive on Sunday morning but it'll be 1st Jan or we can also do 31st Sat morning. In any case, I'll be there @ 7am or so & move off within 15mins.
Thanks SF Yes , have called up and will get it done tomorrow . Will be ready for NS run once the tyres are changed .
Great! Speaking of that, I might have to change mine on the RS before I hit NS. How far do u usually go? Maybe we can go for a run this weekend but prefer B roads & hills.
for the 599, after changing the tyres, you just have to press the tire pressure button in the ceiling console until the instrument panel displays that it is being calibrated. Takes 10 minutes or so of normal driving before it will display OK again. I changed my typres too after getting my 599 last year. Got them at a very good price from this chap recommended by one of our bros here. OEM Pirellis in stock sizes. PM if you are keen to compare prices. Savings were quite substantial
Speaking of the 599s, how many of you tried both on track & what's your opinions? If not how about your experience on the roads, practicality, handling etc.
Am fine with most NS distance , Malacca for breakfast , KL for dinner ... ( Overseas Char Siew ). Does Sin - Phuket almost on a yearly basis on 4x4 ....
Thanks coupe1 Your info will help alot . Will try it out tomorrow after change of tyres . Also , have spoken to Ben of EM to order the sports cat from Larini . Will get the exhaust change then the sports cats and hopefully it will sound alot better than stock and hopefully NO DRONE
Make sure Larini factory commits to a time frame for delivery to you. I waited 5 months for my exos and in the end still not delivered.
Great, looks like we have another long range driver ^^ That's not good. I was very lucky, they had a set for the GTC & EM delivered it within 5 days! Not sure if Akrapovic started making for Fcars, their titanium stuffs are awesome but freaking expensive
The interior colour is Sabia I think...nice. The 599 also comes with nice CF door inserts..but its a really rare option here unless its a HGTE model
I think CF door inserts were a bad idea, the seat belt always ends up smacking into them once you release them.
I always wanted a yellow Ferrari & this is a good read if you haven't http://magazine.ferrari.com/blog/2011/12/yellow-family/
This guy and his wife are actually on Fchat! I think he said most of his cars also have burgundy interiors.
Have not tried it on track before...but I can imagine the power to be more than adequate in straight line. Steering is too light for my taste. More feel would be good. On normal roads, its easy enough to drive but it is a big car. Long bonnet makes me feel ...*ahem*.. like I am behind the wheel of a rocket! haha,.. but it can be a bit intimidating in tight places. Still, its easy once you get the hang of it. Practical due to large interior cabin, large seats to suit my frame and of course a nice boot but mine never sees anything put into it. Going back to the handling, I have seen a Jepun driver on youtube really pushing the car. To the extend that the traction control cuts in all the time when power outstrips the grip. Have felt it happening to me a few times on wet road and my heart really pounds when it happens. Gets the blood flowing a fair bit.
