Hello everyone! Before I begin I'd like to thank everyone that participates on this forum! I've been a long time lurker and have learned so much from this forum during this whole journey towards my first F-car...

I finally got the call this week and got to see my long awaited Bicolor Bianco Fuji / Nero... I hope that you all can give me some advice on some modifications I am planning:

    1. I specified the normal painted five spoke wheels because I plan to get them painted glossy black to match the bicolor roof. Somehow none of the available stock wheels quite did it for me on this color combination. I also plan to replace the center caps with carbon caps... Is there anything to look out for when getting the wheels painted?

    2. The sports sill was not specified with contrasting color under my salesman's suggestion because he said that all white cars would come with the light grey sill, and I really wanted a darker color to match with the bicolor roof, to give the body a "slimming effect"... I plan to paint or wrap this part to make it glossy black... Do you think it's better to paint it or wrap it? Or not at all?

    3. I know that the carbon fender shields are not available for the 458 yet... but I've seen them on both the 599 and the California, so it's reasonable to expect them someday right?

Thanks all for any recommendations you can give me!

The car as it is right now and after my planned changes (sorry for my mediocore photoshop skills):

I feel competent to respond to only #2. First whether you wrap or paint, I suggest a matte finish, not gloss. The visual function of the dark sill is to 'trick' the eye into thinking the car is thinner in its mid section. This tends to accentuate the visual impact of the rear fenders, which come off as twin 'keels.' If the sill is glossy, the eye is diverted to it: "Hey look at me. I'm a painted sill." Subtle but a very different look.

If it were me I would paint it matte black as it would have come from the factory. It will be great.

Stunning just the way it is. Nice choices in bottom photo. Gloss black.

    Looks Fantastic!

I'd echo the suggestion of flat black for the sills. Gloss black may bring too muh attention to the sill.

I recently "created" the same exterior on a confgurator and will be finalizing the order the second week of January. I live in the U.S. and have been informed I cannot get Bianco Fuji (oil based) but only Bianco Italia (water based) paint. Either the dark grey or black wheels look good to me and if the wheels offered don't work, might as well put on after martket wheels and get what you want. I have also elected not to paint lower sills but experiment with different vinyl carbon fiber raps to "safely" experiment with color and texture.

I am going to choose the Carbon Fiber Challenge Grill to "break up" the all white rear end and compliment the other black pieces. You can get carbon fiber center pieces from McArbon. As one chatter pointed out the carbon fiber shields may depart too much from the reason most place shields on the car and be a bit "techy" rather than tasteful. I tend to agree.

What did you choose for the interior? At this moment I am leaning toward all black with Grigio Chiaro Contrast Stitching, and Alcantara inserts in seats. I would love to see some inside pictures of White/Black cars. Unlike some others, i.e. all "red", silverstone, black, etc. this is particularly challenging.

If I can get my pictures of "wrap" I will send to you in another post.

    Best

I like it with the stock wheels or the titanium colored wheels (Centercaps stock as well).
But either way, that car is just a stunner!!!
    Congrats!

congrats! and always love it when my country is representing!
saw ur ride at service and it looks awesome, black wheels will really finish it off.
i would wrap the whole indented area of the doors and lower sills in black carbon to make it slim, i thought about it but got lazy.
now come out and drive with us and see what ur ride can do! we meeting tomorrow if it aint raining.

    Gorgeous color combos.
    1. I went with a special order sport rim painted gloss black from the factory with gloss black calipers and CF wheel caps. Car's on the truck to dealer and is expected any day now. I'd wrap the roof with matte black and have the sills painted in same. Reason? The sills are very commonly grey and matte with white exterior always looks good.
On the other hand, two tone roofs seemed very popular last year....will they remain so and more importantly will you get tired of a matte black roof in a year or so. I'd hedge that bet and do the roof in a wrap.

I would leave that beautiful car exactly how it is.... Stunning and unique, in my opinion leave the black wheels to Lamborghini and racers. Just my opinion but I love it as it is

I saw one of these on the interstate today and I couldn't help but turn my head around to gaze at it. This color combination is stunning in person. Really makes it stand out.

Wow very nice combo :) haha I didnt expect to see another bicolour Bianco Fuji/Nero so soon on this site. I too have the same exterior apart from the rims they are the dark grey forged rims and it works well, I think you should give it a thought again than getting it painted glossy black. Anyways heres a pic of mine again...

Bianca fuji is damn gorgeous! I regret my avus selection due to being too cheap! Yes, get the sills wrapped rather than painted. Wrap is easy to reverse if you don't like it or replace if it is scratched. I may get my roof wrapped matte black. Powder coat the wheels. Dark wheels on a white car looks wicked, IMO. Let's see the interior!

While on this topic, a couple of questions, given I am ordering the same color scheme.

Is it true that Bianco Fuji has been replaced with Bianco Italia because the former is oil based and latter water based? If so, is this in the U.S. only? I am told they look identical but have not see them side by side.

As you can see from my Porsche post (wrap) I like the idea, but wonder how others feel about doing this to a Ferrari. For example, my wife said "NOT to a Ferrari". A Porcshe ok but not a 458!! I do see her point and therefore change course once again, now focusing on either a matt black or glossy roof and then matching with the same carbon fiber in the rear.

Anyone out there with pictures of a black matt vs gloss top with Bianco Fuji or Italia.

    Thanks

Do the mods you suggested, but leave the wheels as they are.

Black wheels have "jumped the shark" IMHO.

    Beautiful car, and congratulations!!!.

I love black wheels, so I'll always advocate wheels being painted black. But even thinking objectively, I think they look amazing on a white 458 with a black roof. Your car is stunning by the way - Bianco Fuji is such a flattering color on the 458, and with the black roof and wheels, and the aluminum calipers, it really pops! Do you have more pictures? This car has no bad angles. Can you tell us the serial number of your car?

For me, I would love to paint the wheels in black. It looks more sportier. Well, choose your own likes. If you like it then go on. But in my opinion, I love the black wheels.

My friend has the same color combo as yours and he had his wheels painted glossy black. I have a bi color red/black as well and have my standard wheels painted in glossy black. It makes the car look more aggressive. I like it and recommend it.
