    I always thought of the Knighthood as a way of the Queen to reward rich and famous Brits who didn't move their money to tax havens.

    So Surtees' chances should be good. :)

    Not true. Sir Philip Green (Arcadia/TopShop) lives in Monaco and paid himself a tax free dividend of close to $2 BILLION (1.4 Billion British Pounds) a few years ago. His knighthood came (after his huge payout) for services to retail, and no doubt for the taxes his thousands of employees pay to the British Treasury
