My car was highly modded never got in trouble with it drove it hard many times, but never did anything to upset the balance, you want to watch LTO look at a early 356 vintage race most of those guys go off the track backwards.

I remember those graphics...sitting in the showroom at Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena, CA when I was in jr.high school. I'd go for those graphics if I was restoring an early Turbo Carrera!

This is the 77 i should have bought. it was 4 miles from my house in Atlanta and the first 930 i physically looked at when i got serious 3-4 years ago. it was sold new by Brumos to a Brumos employee and on it's 3rd owner. the platinum Fuchs were factory and it had a factory CB radio. very nice original shape w/ 50k miles. the thermal reactors were removed by Brumos when new. i could havve bought it for around $25-27k, but decided to pass as it was the first one i looked at. after looking at about 5-6 more 3.0 across the country after about 1 year, i realized this is the one i should have bought. they person seling it moved to Florida right after i first looked at it, but don't know if he sold it. He had a Jag he was also selling and said he would keep the one that didn't sell. I wish i knew want happened to it.

The days of deals on these cars may be over. The cost of a full restoration is several times more and they are begining ti get restored when needed.

    I know of a nice original low-mileage 1975 that sold for $140,000.

Ooley & Blackburn had a really nice one a several months ago. It still had the graphics on the quarter panels. If not mistaken, it sold for 50k.

i may be in minority but i do like the trippy graphics much like the ones on the paris showcar prop.

speaking on the silver/white paris show car, the flares look quite a bit different than the production cars. some have said its basically 3.0 carrera RS flares and bumpers with vents slots added to the rear valance along with larger RSR size whale tail.

im curious of the lineage of the early 930 cars...so the non runner paris proto car was built with a carrera rs wide body. the production 3.0 turbo carrera had welded on fender flares while later 3.3 cars had flares part of the body stampings?

    cheers

over the summer, i looked at a 77 with 15k miles, one owner. the car had been stored by an elderly multilbe P car collector for 10 years. It needed some mechanical freshening to make it driveable. the interior was perfect. the paint was actually most concernign. the door was scratched whten it was new at the dealer and it didn't match the other paint, the roof and other parts neded some tought up alos. they were asking $45k and i think they got close to it.

in perspective comparing the green 77 that sold for around $55k, my 79 also has 40k miles, with proper engine updates, is in excellent shape, orginal paint except the drivers door (which was repainted as it was scratched up years ago), has alot but not all records (records of engine udates are some whcih are available) and me being the 4th owner. If I sold it for $45k i would feel great. i don't think i could find the same comperable 76-77 as mine for the same money.

i wonder when book prices will catch up with reality.

Buy them while you can. In the last year I have seen a 77 and 79 break 70K. Both cars had original paint and cork interior with less than 30K miles. The 77 was in Wayne, PA and the 79 was in Chatham, NJ.

At the beginning of the year, I was looking for an early 911E (SWB) and stumbled upon a spectacular 930 which I regret passing on. This was a 78 with 60K miles. The car was black on black with sunroof. The paint was original with the exception of the deck lid. The front seats were recovered about 10 years ago. The car had a B&B exhaust installed, but the original was in excellent condition and included with the sale. The car sold for 45K.
