I would like to know how US-cars like these should be fast. http://ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-F40-87181 "over $40,000 spent on upgrades including Ferrari LM turbos, Hyperflow cats, Tubi exhaust, straight cut drop gears, Razzo Rossa LM computer chips to maximize the engine upgrades" http://ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-F40-90568 "Over $100,000 spent on upgrades including LM turbos, new ECUs, LM throttle linkage, short shift kit, full engine bay insulation, Tubi street exhaust, Aeroquip hosing and fire system" http://ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-F40-92708 "the ECU was upgraded; is a very fast and well sorted F40" We know US F40s are heavier, fitted with cats, but these examples seems to be quick US-cars.
I think these cars show the passion the F40 evokes. And how lucky you guys are in Europe to have lightweight, cat-less, plexi-windows cars!
love 92708, the 348SS seats are cool. Would like to have those and set of those Speedlines. Needs Tubi wing on it though
I agree with you 100%. I love US F40s too, they are very elegant and better built to our cars, expecially compared to early cars. Ferrari during the F40's production increased sophistication in the details, this during the production of cat cars, even more on U.S. cars. My car is particularly stripped, poorly painted (you notice the carbon fiber below the paint), poorly assembled (many mismated and noisy parts) or simply built with "racing car" concept. Your US cars are so beautiful and so perfect. This also depends by the U.S. market request, in standards (crash too) and detailed attentions (you can see your carbon fiber used in the interior, luggage room is like "glass", our used is so rough and opaque). Only better built cars in USA. Unfortunately for the engines, cleaner, but less angry... Two different type to represent the F40 but no less exciting. At the end, a US F40 fitted with upgrated ECU, LM turbos, Tubi exhaust, is all you need for your enjoyment! PS. the only thing, I don't love your front bumper! Front spoiler is aggressive, rear bumper is no bad (it was also on our GTE to allow the largest wing for BPR regulation). US owners an advice is take the front bumper out.
I know that Amir Rosenbaum's F40 was upgrated to 650 hp. I think it is enough, even with a U.S. engine version. http://image.eurotuner.com/f/8307202/eurp_0802_09_z+1992_ferrari_f40+rear_engine.jpg Although maintaining the same intercooler, fitted with LM tubi exhaust, it's just a work of ECU combined with wastegate calibration. Looking the picture the wastegate had different setting screw surely for higher boost, cats removed but overboosting valve maintained. Without a huge raised boost pressure (just few psi) you are sure up to over 600 hp even with cats! enough to smoke a Europeran car without cats!
Speaking of LM- themed F40s, here is one on the road in the USA. If this were my image (its Axion 23's), Id "adjust" the script on the mirror to read: OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE FASTER THAN THEY APPEAR Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not real sure they are LM seats, as I said they look the same as the 348 Serie Special to me. At least my SS were exactly the same from the factory. and yes, I hated that car. Like my ex-girlfriend, getting in wasn't near as hard as getting out.
I think you are talking about two different seats referring two different cars Joe was talking about 90568 and Scuderia about 92708!
Yep those are cool too. My mistake. I have a set of euro seats, not near as cool as the LM set. Joe know where I can get a set of Speedlines for the 40?
I had black Speedlines wheels on my old cat 600 hp F40. The sister of current F40. But, I think I prefer these at the moment. http://ferraris-online.com/pages/imgview.php?reqcardir=FE-F40-87181&imgnum=P007 stock design, size 18" Fantastic for me, the same looking of the 17" wheels with greatest look impact. Here the site http://www.speedlinecorse.co.uk/ PS. I really don't know where is possible find two LM seats, that's seems to be really hard.
I think those seats might be the ones Michelotto were selling. When I was looking for a set of euro F40 seats I talked to them and they had a set of shell seats that they sold. [email protected]
Probably a repost but I recently stumbled on these pics. yellow source & red source Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Love the LM "80's gold" wheels on the yellow car. Was a set on eBay a few months ago, but I'm pretty sure it was a scam. Would like to have those though.
Just bought it after lost the Auto Italia issue which has amazing infos about my favourite Ferrari F40 LM. Amazing information about F40 model and very nice pics. A little bit irrelevant with this thread but AMAZING...!
It shows they did not do their research... 600 USA F40s (actually 211), adjustable suspension... amazing they could be that far off.
