That car does look weird, with the forward mounted spoiler, and the really wide wheel well flares.

Correct and it is remains an LP400, although it is now medium green (similar to the LP400 prototype in the Museo).

Someone put a lot of thought into trying to minimize "the damage" while getting
    it U.S. certified it seems.

LOL. I'm happy where the car is, it obviously is getting the care and custody it deserves, and I can rack up miles on my current cars without getting sick to my stomach. To own that one, you have to have another one to drive. :)

But yes, I do kick myself. Hard. Often.

There were no emissions or bumpers (maybe even no door braces, I never took a door panel off) to get this thru epa/dot. I was told by **** ******* that it was the last one that got thru with a wink and nod and got all the paperwork.

    I just love these wheels.

What is the proper name for them, series 1, silhouette?

People usually call them the Bravo wheels.

    Hi Joe,

ILR says on 1120300: Purchased new in 1977 by Pantera specialist Gary Hall of Paramount, California. Gary kept the car til 1987 when he sold it with only 3000 miles on the odometer.
How does Steve fit in here? Was Gary a dealer who imported the car from Belgium to the USA perhaps?
    Ciao!
    Marcello

Steve actually bought it from the factory but sold it as a "new" car to Gary Hall once it reached California.

    Hope that helps.

Affectionately called Bravo wheels but also referred to as telephone-dial wheels. There is no official designation.

The cars were stored at Autun in Saone Et Loire. A former coal mining town. Rural setting south of the morvan. Nice "hill races" for cars there in the 70s & 80s.
I must have driven 20 or 30 time in front of that barn going back home or while being there, unsuspecting.
Guy selling the car was a farmer holding the cars for a British chap who died. No idea how this came to be...
The espada went for an ungodly sum of money at today's value.Needed a lot of work and the buyer may have to wait 10-20 years minimum to break even IMO. The was probably a "love" purchase with money not an issue.

Someone from Belgium went to see the car and also was at the auction for first hand discussions

Was blue leather a special order on the Countach? You sure don't see many of them around....

I also wonder how much time/effort/cost it would be strip off the yellow paint on those phone dial wheels?

Anyone remember that yellow/black (bumble bee) 5000QV that was for sale in Vegas a couple years back?

the biggest problem on bravo wheels is the corrosion you could find on some of them
    usually in the inner part!

to strip them is not a problem
