I'm Back........

After almost 2 years with no Ferrari I'm SERIOUSLY considering a 2008 599 with about 5K miles on her. It's in the showroom at BH Ferrari. I stopped in today, met with James and sat in it......

IT's A BEAST! It's on consignment and seems to be a relatively decent price at 229K. I was hoping for an HGTE car but I can't seem to find one in the color I want. I guess I could always add the suspension package later? I dunno........All I do know is that it's a stunningly gorgeous car that I have wanted for years.

After a 430 I think it's a great choice for me. I love the 458 but I can't justify the expense at this time and I frankly think I would be happier in a 599....


Any thoughts?

 

Looks like there are plenty of 599 owners that put miles on their cars like you did in your 430. I'm sure Carlo (Ferrarista3) could answer any or all of your questions about living with a 599 day to day.

 

First of all, glad to hear you might be getting a F car again.

I drove a 599 about a year ago. I really liked it.

What kind of warranty will F BH give you?

BTW James is a very ethical and responsible sales manager . That's a big plus when considering a used car even like the low mileage 599 you are considering.

James is the best. Im not sure about the warranty. It's certainly a big concern for me after what I went through with my 430. Once I REALLY know Im ready to make an offer I will ask him every possible detail regarding the car.

 

In my travels to Cali I stopped by Ferrari BH to just admire. I was straightforward with James, as I did not want to waste anyone's time. He spent a good hour with me, even let me see all the customer vintage, exotic cars that were in storage. I felt like I was in that scene with Angelina Jolie and Nick Cage in Gone In 60 Seconds! Sorry to ramble but just wanted to illustrate how top notch James was and he found a customer for life!

To answer your question, you won't be disappointed with the 599 but I will say, it may be worth springing the extra for the 458. Just my $.02.

 

Asking price for a grey car seems a bit high. See the PM I sent. You will not regret a decision to purchase a 599.

 

That's because Grigio Silverstone is one of the nicest looking colors on a 599,lol..

Ape- All the late V12s have been very reliable, especially the 575-599 cars. I think you will love the 599. You must be having terrible withdrawal symptoms. Jump back into the fray.

 

Good to see you back Ape. I can tell you, the 599 (HGTE in my case) is a great driver. Put 16,000 kms on it and haven't had any problems with the car. Driving it is a real pleasure and the power it delivers is phenomenal and always there when you need it. You won't be disappointed with it in my opinion. As for looks ... the 599 will age very well in my opinion and won't look outdated once the new 599 comes out. That's just my $ 0.02

Happy hunting and I look forward to any updates and hopefully some pictures of your new baby anytime soon. Remember ... this is a V12. Nothing beats that imo.

The 599 is one of my favourite Ferraris and I think a V12 would suit a gentleman like yourself perfectly.

Beautiful color. I traded my 07 F430 for an 08 599. Different car but great car. I got a power cube warranty with my car.

 

Do you use it to go to work ?

I remember you said you used your M6 convertible as daily driver.

 

Perfect color combination for a 599! No daytona seats or shields, perfect as it sits there.

Glad to see you back!! I only have 8,000 miles on my 599 but I can tell you that the engine gets better and more powerful with the miles. Get one.

 

M6 is gone and I use the 7 series a lot but whenever I get the chance ... the HGTE is put to work

 

Welcome back! I remember the whole saga with your 430, am sure a 599 will be a better experience, there really is nothing like the power of the V12, there is seemingly limitless torque and power and even changing at fairly low revs the 599 feels quick but above 6000 rpm she really flies!

To me the 599 is an Enzo in a tailored suit!
