Looks great. If you do need help with the car you have a great mechanic in Mooresville. He is on this site 308nut(Wade).

    Congrats.

You must have passed my place in Palm Coast on the way up if you went up A1A. Like you it took me 30 years to get my 308 and it is THE car of my childhood dreams. One of the reasons I wanted a 1980 is the memory of that time period and how bleak things were during that year for my family financially. Somehow during that period I began to doubt if I'd ever have one. Makes owning one from that year special to ME.

Take it all in. Pinch yourself all you want but it's real.

    Enjoy every mile.

Matt congrats on the 308! I noticed something you might want to correct in one of the engine photos. The hose clamp on your air filter is facing up and should be angled to the side a little bit. It has put a hole in your expanded metal which is attached to your engine lid.

Thank you very much, Branko. I did catch that today (ouch) and it has been moved. I am going to try to re-close that screen as best I can.

It's a hole rather than a tear, so I can't close it. Fortunately not a very big hole. I do have the clamp out of the way. Interesting clamp (pin with the strap rolled around it). I hadn't seen one like that before.

A wonderful reason for the 1980 model, and I'm glad that you found it. I know what you mean, Stuart. I look forward to many years with this car, with all of the maintenance. I wish you many happy miles as well.

Thank you, Frank. I had tan/crema fixed in my brain for many years, but I really like the black interior a lot.

I went through the same thing - ended up with a red 83QV with black leather interior too.
I love it and drive it with out the top on 99% of the time (ANSA sport exhaust). Enjoy her and congrats on making your dream come true!

    Congrats Matto!

    I have an 83qv red/black.
Might I suggest a large supply of micro fiber towels, when you are standing in the garage admiring the car and a partial of dust falls on it, you are ready (not that I've ever done that)

Hope it brings you many miles of pure driving enjoyment, they are a blast!

    Rick

Welcome to the club. Isn't a great feeling to belong to this brotherhood? All the best with

your new ride. Enjoy everything this car will bring that all other cars cannot. With the

exception to the F40 of coarse.

Matto, I really enjoyed your story! It reminded me of when I brought my 83 Euro QV Red/Tan home on an August eve. Ha! I only had 10 or 12 miles to get home! I enjoyed it emensely for the 4 years I had her. I've since aquired a TR, which meant trading her away, but as soon as I'm able, I'll add a 3x8 to the stable again! All the best from Utah! Ed.

Hahaha, yes. The dust watch has begun! I'm actually looking forward to cleaning up the engine. Getting everything shiny and mechanically up to snuff will be a blast as well.
