*IF* true - and this seems to be a single, unconfirmed, report then Bernie is an even bigger genius/******* (depending on your viewpoint ;)) than even we give him credit for........

The entire premise of the Concorde has always been that it's between him and *all* the teams. Certainly, Ferrari and now I suspect Red Bull are getting "bonus money", but that's a long way from "signing a new Concorde" IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Ian, Bernie is a genius. Don't have to like him, but he is a business wizard.

I bet their (Ferrari and RBR) little overspending debacles get pushed a little further back "for reveiw". Like when pigs fly.

Kind of defeats the whole idea of a Concorde if teams cut side deals.

If true you have to hand it to Bernie.
If I can get him a US birth certificate think he'll run against Obama?

Yep. And I can almost use both of them :) PT goes slowly but I'm getting there.
Bought a two car garage in December. It's a bit far away but I hope to put it to good use before too long.

    LOL

I thought the whole idea of a Concorde agreement was to protect the teams as a whole.

So if one team cuts a better deal it wouldn't matter, under the present Concorde terms.

During our revolution (no hard feelings) there was a saying.
"Either we hang together or we hang separately".

Absolutely +100! He's *always* tried to take the "divide & conquer" approach as even he realizes the innate power they'd have if truly united "against" him..... He's on record (late last year IIRC?) questioning what FOTA is all about and calling it "irrelevant" etc.

+1 That's why I questioned the OP - They may have signed some kind of "Bernie side deal", but as I said, that's a long way from a new Concorde which I believe has to be agreed to and signed by all of 'em.

    Cheers,
    Ian

While the side deals may not replace the Concorde they will effect its content.
The one glimmer of hope is that in F1 people don't stay bought even when paid off.

    Nothing has been signed, at least by Ferrari if Stefano is to be believed;

If you want to get Bernie into politics you might want to try Russia. It would be a better fit for his style.

    Thanks Ian.

The whole idea of perticipants in such an ultra highly competitive arena like F1 sitting down and helping one another by cedeing hard won advantages is so counterintuitive that it can only happen when trumped by an even stronger instinct.
    Profit.

It's not coincidence that the two teams most willing to buck the system are the two least interested in turning a profit ( or justifying expenses to a corporate board). Red Bull and Ferrari.
