This is looks really great but I think the front and rear wheelwells are supposed to be undercoated as per the factory (see below).

If it were to be judged you would probably get dinged and if you are planning on driving it would make sense to do it.

I am no “expert” so what is the consensus?

Beautiful, truly. It's such a treat to follow this project Mark!

Just wondering: It appears you're using a non-original height-adjustable coil-over system, complete with helper springs (a fine looking rig!). Was this to suit your personal driving preferences (originality being less important) or some other reason?

PS: If this was covered in prior posts, I apologize. It's been a couple months since I've followed.

Hi thanks for the info, very interested to hear what the forum thinks on this?

I know all the recent restorations that the garage has done have been finished the same as my car. That stage of the restoration is done in Italy and several of the cars have been inspected by Ferrari Classiche with no comment. The local craftsmen (all old Ferrari) never even gave the option, it was just done that way.

I am going to keep that finish, it is much easier to clean than a textured underseal finish, plus the car has been tank dipped in rust protection fluid, so hopefully eveything should be ok.

Would love to hear others view on the wheel-well finish?

    many thanks Mark

HI - thanks very much, glad you are enjoying the journey. There was a comment on post #738.....

" We are rebuilding the suspension using Roelofs coil-over competition shock absorber's. They have a fully adjustable damper and spring settings giving a fantastic quality of ride, plus the benefit of superior handling:

    http://www.roelofsparts.com/rp/index...emid=26&id=125

Easy decision to make, the original Koni style suspension is readily available, so it is an easy fix if ever need to be converted back - there are no modifications involved. Suspension components are consumable parts, therefore over the years they will have been replaced may times.

We will also be rebuilding the brakes using Roelofs upgraded competition brake kit, I will document that when we start. "

    cheers mark

Hi, wow unbelievable project. Beautiful. Any reason for not keeping the Roelof anti roll bar? It would seem to be the perfair pair to the coil overs and brakes this gorgeous car is being built with, and should only help with handling. I vote to keep it! :)

Hi, it is far to stiff for normal road use, but it would be perfect for track work.

    Mark,
After a break and few weeks of wine, champagne and chocolate, I am assuming that you are back on track with this marvel of yours. Any update coming? I can't wait, and want to start 2012 as well as I finished 2011, i.e. reading the next chapter of the aventure of #07333.

Hi, back on track very soon, we are busy working on that fuel filter, should have it looking like new very soon - seriously we have gone the distance on it, correct paint, decal, tag etc - photos soon!

In the meantime I am really concerned that my children will not be into classic Ferrari's, who will look after my legacy when the time comes!!

Happy New Year everyone, all the best Mark

Hi, I have since looked through the history file and found a very detailed invoice for all the original engine overhaul work.

All this work was carried out by one of the previous long term (1983 - 2004) owners, Henry Payne. The work was carried out by Brian E. Amiss of A.C. Restorations, Inc. 5024 Herzel Place, Beltsville, Maryland 20705
