Its just not getting any better for him. The return could not be further in doubt now. Very bad news. Quite sorry to hear this.

If this is true, it's terrible news. The guy just cannot catch a break. I wish him well and a speedy recovery. His F1 future hasn't looked good for some time, but I still am holding out a little hope.

Time to give up that little hope.

He'll never be racing in F1 again.

    Pretty much so.

His leg must be in bad shape. Kubica was certainly not making any sudden moves due to his condition and yet managed to break the leg again. This reflects on the healing process.

Hmm, I'll bet with one arm and one leg he'd still be faster than......oh, I better not go there...;).

I'm comming off of a break that wasn't nearly so bad as Robert's but I can tell you that they don't heal quickly. Three months in and my Doc still won't let me do any strengthing lest I reinjure it.

    Godspeed Robert.

I hear you. Precisely that is why I can't imagine doctors letting Kubica do much and still broke the leg. Really sad situation as he is (was?) a great driver

Sucks when bad things happen to good people. I would have loved to have seen him in a Ferrari. :(

My father suffered a serious leg break while playing sports in his 50's. The doctor warned him to put pressure on the broken leg or risk a follow on fracture. He didn't listen, slipped in water, and broke it again.

Doc said it's common. Sounds like Kubicza experienced a similar scenario...sucks!

I had a similar injury and operation, except it was the socket in my ankle that had to be pieced back together.

It took MONTHS before I was even close to as agile as I was pre-accident, and I never got more than 75% of my motion/agility back.

The orthopedic surgeon said that legs and ankles are tricky because each must support the entire weight of the body when walking, and feet/ankles especially tricky because during running or any similar activity, they not only support the static load but the shock load of the activity.

It's going to be a very long, hard road for Robert, unfortunately.

I do feel sorry for Robert, but even with his initial rally injury, deep down, i really didn't think he was coming back. In fact, i never understood all the hype of Ferrari considering him for a seat in 2013. He's pretty unproven, and with him keeping even Renault in the dark about his progress pretty much sums up everything.

Personally, he's done with F1. On the bright side, he's alive, and hopefully all limbs will function well. Maybe he should look at other forms of racing, something not as taxing and need ultra fast reaction like Formula One.
