I have to say that I do kind of like the looks.

And, it is fast - 11.8 in the quarter mile, 189 mph top speed.

The 7-speed manual should be interesting.

I could do without the high center console, but it is not totally horrible.

My question is whether the S version with options is really saleable at $115,000+ ?

I like everything about it... except the price. There are better cars at that level.

It'll depreciate hard and fast. Will be a great pick-up 2 years used.

    The long way home
    With full warranty? Such as?

Porsche had no problem moving well-equipped 997 S coupes at ~$105 or 4S coupes at ~$115 or even the end-of-the-run GTS' at $120++. They'll have no problem moving the (by all accounts) awesome 991 S at ~$115...

Yup, and I wouldn't really want to drive either of those.

There are a lot of nondescript BMW/Lexus/Mercs that are pushing $100K, and the R8/Gallardo are significantly more.

Doesn't seem stupidly out of line...

This is one of those situations where my initial reaction to the price is something along the lines of: "@#$$%^&&*(^*%&$#@!%^@#%^%@#$#@%$!!!!!" But it's really just an emotional response because I can't afford one. I'm a spartan and can do without the cooled seats, etc. I configured a non-S with the options I'd want:

    - Agate Grey (I'm a fan too, Chas)
    - Sports Seats Plus in full leather interior (Carrera Red)
    - Electric Sunroof
    - Sport Chrono Pack (I like being able to adjust all the settings)
    - Porsche Torque Vectoring
    - Porsche Active Suspension
    - Seat Heaters

The total came out to $96,840. The full leather interior in Carrera Red was a bit of splurge ($4840). Just the sport seats plus only cost $800 and well worth it. The only other thing I might consider is the sport exhaust, but I think I might prefer to go aftermarket.

I cannot live without cooled seats. I live in the southeast. I think the price is fair for the technology, IMO. What is torque vectoring?
