Just confirmed my order last week following my Atelier visit at the factory mid-December. Final specs are: Ext Grigio Titanio INT Cuoio CAR Nero CALD Grey Silverstone Calipers CERF Outer Carbon-Fibre B Post CRPK Carbon Fibre Racing Package CRS1 Cruise Control CTU4 Leather Central Tunnel - Cuoio HAW1 Heat Insulating Windscreen IPOD Ferrari Ipod LOGO Scuderia Ferrari Shield MIR2 Int/Ext Electrochromatic Mirrors NAVC Radionavi System + Bluetooth PAC1 Parking Camera PAR2 Front and Rear Parking Sensors RPMY Yellow Rev Counter RSCH Carbon Fibre Racing Seats - Large RSFD 20" Sport Forged Diamond RUF1 Leather headliner - Nero STC1 All Stitchings in Colour - Nero TPMO Tyres Pressure Measurement All carbon will be matte finish and the lower half of the dash below the carbon will be cuoio. Fortunately some of these options are likely to be covered in the basic price of the car in Australia. Is apparently set for April or May build but am waiting to hear from the dealer - now the long wait starts!! David
You are so lucky!!! I think I'm a long way from a slot. The spec sounds fantastic. Getting it in the summer is going to be great. It won't be that long....
Agree in principle but in Western Australia in certain areas there are speed cops and cameras everywhere - so when driving reasonable distances cruise is a necessary option. Have it in my California and it has been worth it!! David
Actually, that is autumn, going onto winter, in Australia. I agree the spec looks fantastic. Congrats! My Italia should be build around the same time, perhaps I'll see it when I visit the factory to pic it up! I've also opted for the cruise control, for long trips in camera-strewn Europe it's really helpful. Onno
Jazzy, Thanks - I plan to go to the factory and see it come off the production time. My dealer tells me it's possible but Ferrari timing isn't an exact science. I guess once the build starts they should know the finish date pretty well - so it may be a lst minute thing which is fine as I don't mind kicking my heels in Italy for a few days!! David
ARED4RE Not sure about the pricing at all - all I know is the basic car is A$590k plus on roads. They will also give a bunch of options free in what the importer calls the Australia pack which is their way of dealing with A$ appreciation. At the moment there is no price list for any of the options in Australia - so I'm not sure about the cost and may not know until after I'm locked in. Not great but it is what it is and I am comfortable that my dealer will treat me fairly. I really like the look of the matte carbon. There is another option I'm considering - when I was at the factory Atelier, the Ferrari guy mentioned they have a treatment for the leather that stops it getting so hot. I'm not sure if I understood him correctly but have emailed asking if that's a possibility. If it is it would be a great option for a convertible and I would add it!! David
Congrats! The fact that you have a build slot is amazing. I like everything that you spec'd. That's the great thing about these cars, everyone's taste is different and diversity of opinion is what it's all about. I'm a red/black guy and my new 458 has been spec'd that way. I know many will say"red/black has been done to death" but for me it's just right. On the other hand I've never met a Ferrari I didn't like regardless of color! Now the long wait begins! Enjoy the anticipation!
I know you will be anxiously awaiting delivery. I will be equally (maybe slightly less) anxiously awaiting pictures!
I am originally from Perth and agree with David's comments about the police and their aggressive pursuit of speeding. However, I have cruise in my 458 and I live in the USA - it is very handy to have on long trips!
Good news - build confirmed for April and delivery in Perth some time late June. Seems I'm getting one of the early cars which is surprising as I'm a recent Ferrari customer there. Maybe the market is a little soft at the moment. David
Congrats on the delivery confirmation! Hope the weather will be kind.. least it won't be a scorcher straight up..
Saw the Spider at Cavallino Classics in Palm Beach, FL this past weekend and have to say it is absolutely beautiful. I was worried about the humps behind the seats but they looks great in person. You are very lucky to be able to order one! Huge congrats!
Aside from the options I first listed am also getting the rear bench in leather, HELE and also the sports exhaust tips as these are included in the Australian Base Price. It really annoys me that for the price I'm paying as specced I could get two in the US!! David
It appears my car has went 10 black last week - what does that actually mean and what is the typical time difference between that and 10 RED and then finish of build? David
