I have to say that in my mind, the 599 is extremely underrated and under appreciated in the exotic car world. Personally, I am a Lamborghini man, but I love Ferraris as well, and the 599 has to be my favorite Ferrari (in any form..GTB, HGTE, GTO).

They look so unique compared to the more 'common' Ferraris (430, 360) and their sound is absolutely intoxicating. Here in St. Louis, they are very rare to find in comparison to other exotics. There are a few red, a few black, a few silver, and one yellow that I have seen here..only three have I managed to capture on my video camera.

What do you guys think? Maybe it is just underrated around where I am from, but even on YouTube I do not see that much appreciation of this incredible vehicle.

Finally got a video of two 599s thrown together..the sound is so good.

If I had the $$, a nero daytona 599 would be my daily driver.

phenomenal cars that fall victim to the modern front engined V12 Ferrari syndrome.

    btw,is that Mitch M.'s silver 599?

I don't think it's underrated. It has gotten a LOT of praise on this forum. Maybe the teens hanging out on YouTube think it's too "under the radar" for a Ferrari/supercar.

I also think it's one of those cars that didn't look so good to me when it was released, but it just keeps getting better and better looking.

What's the modern front engined V12 Ferrari syndrome? I'm new, you know, just done a 360 and 430 in the last couple years, but have my sights set on experiencing a V12 soon. I can't wait to have a 599 in teh garage. Just need to be more sure about some business items this year before pulling the trigger. But what's this syndrome you speak of, just under-appreciation or more? I hear nay saying about the 612's looks, but I think it looks great in the right color.

Couldn't agree with you more. I think the 612's design is timeless and with the FF around, it doesn't look outdated or old in any way. In fact, I just added one of the last 612 OTO's to roll off the production line to my stable. Long nose, clean design, awesome V12, beautiful sound = top of the line GT ... this car will give me tons of pleasure ;)

But you know what they say ... colour and taste ...

BTW: the 612 is Nero Daytona with Cuio Naturale interior. A classic in my opinion.

Agreed as well. I started off hating the 612 but once I had seen a few in the right color with the challenge wheels, I fell in love with them. Then heard them with the HGTC package...

These are my two favorite spec'd 612s I have ever seen.

This baby just went up for sale. Not spamming so no link, but can't remove the dealer banner. "This" is my ideal exterior on a 612, not everyone's I understand, but mine. So beautiful to me I'm emotionally moved. I'm glad in a way it's not my ideal interior. This car is under $100k and if the interior were tan, I'd be losing sleep figuring out how to justify getting lift to park it with the 430.

Thanks. It's a mix of the two. The HGTE will leave the stable and is replaced with the 612 and a 458 Challenge. Leaves me with a pretty good mix of F cars.

    Thanks Jacques!

How much did you sell your HGTE? If you don't mind.
It would be nice if you just bought the 458 Italia and a FF instead of the 612.

I didn't know the 599 was under-appreciated. I would agree with statements saying this about the 612 and California.
    I want all 3....but definitely a 599.

I don't think its underrated, I would say its "under sold" because its a larger, heavier GT Ferrari, as opposed to a lightweight rocket and track car like the 430 Scud and 458 which are better preferred by the masses. Yes the HGTE and GTO are track worthy, but we are now talking $500k ++ dollars compared to a 458 which can be had at alot less.

Don't forget that the 599 has been manufactured since 2005, which gives it 7 years of production term, which is fairly long and successful run for a Ferrari model.

I always wondered why Lamborghini never tried to make a similar model to the 599.
