I rented this movie called "Ride with the Devil" with Tobie McGuire. Not a great movie but not bad either. It's about the guerilla war in Kansas during the civil war.

Best part: you get to see Jewel breastfeed. :)

Due Date - turned it off 1/2 way through. I think you'd be happier watching Planes, Tranes and Automobiles again than dealing w/ this headache.

The Debt - Couldn't make it 20 minutes. Perhaps I've lost my patience but this otherwise great cast just couldn't deal w/ a director that didn't know how to move the script.

Saw the new Mission Impossible at our local IMAX theater.

Very impressive on the large screen. And they had the volume turned up too.

Tom Cruise doing his own stunts on the outside of that gigantic skyscraper hotel in Dubai was insane.

They shot his stunts only about 50 feet above the ground and edited the film to make it look like he was outside of the building over 100 stories up in the air.
But even still, jumping around 50 feet up in the air hanging by a harness is not something the typical big star would do themselves.

Here's a short video clip where you can see how high Tom Cruise actually is when doing some of those stunts. (Start the video at 2:30 into it).

    +1.

Whether one likes him as an actor or cares for his religion you gotta admit he is quite an accomplished guy and adrenaline junkie.

The Red Bull videos of him in the F1 car and flipping the helicopter are just two more examples.

Oh, and let's not forget he was a U-boat commander during the Cold War! ;) :D

Yep, strange guy for sure, but he is the real deal when it comes to being a pilot.
I love his plane, a P-51 Mustang named "Kiss Me Kate".
A nice P-51 sells for about $2M these days.

Here is a short video of his P-51 being taken out for a ride by another pilot.
(fun stuff starts at 2:20 into the video).

We bought a zoo - Good family movie
Joyful Noise - Don't ask why I saw this

Contraband - I liked this a lot. Probably my favorite movie of 2012 so far. Good action, good story.

Last night, I saw Cowboys & Aliens. Not bad...not that good either. I'd give it a 6/10. Pretty far-fetched.

Just got done watching Apollo 18. Very scary...not in a classic horror way, but in a "that could be very real" way. I'd give it a 9/10.

"The Langoliers" (Stephen King).... not bad until the "malted milk balls with chainsaw teeth" appeared....

But a very decent movie regardless....

Saw the Young Adult with Charlize Theron.

A very well done, dark movie that left my wife and I fairly depressed afterward. Charlize Theron is very good at playing really down and out people (Monster).

Contraband. It was ok, nothing special. Pretty unimaginative, very obvious plot devices. Even Kate Beckinsdale's hotness was dialed down.

Man on a Ledge. Went to a pre-screening. Good movie.

    The Thing ('11 remake)

Meh. Captures none of the originals frightning suspense. The original is a 10/10 horror movie, this one was a 5/10.

The Usual Suspects for who knows how many times yet I don't think I've seen it once from beginning to end in one sitting...I always seem to catch it while flipping thru channels.

    Excellent.

    Tinker tailor etc.

Great performances, settings, atmosphere, and mood. Somewhat hard to keep all the dots connected.
