What's regarded as the best most thorough book on the 288 GTO?

I see that I can get a copy of 288 GTO by Paolo Murani, Stefano Pasini, Luigi Orsini, published by Automobilia for around $65. Are there any others I should consider?

    Many thanks and merry christmas

    Matt

Heard second hand - have not seen it yet myself - but it's supposed to be rather good and thorough.

And you're not likely to have seen it since it isn't yet available, which is why it gives an availability date of 15 November 2012 in your link.

Joe has mentioned in the 288 GTO thread that the book may also be delayed into 2013.

I think I'll start with the Automobilia published book, while waiting for Joe's book to be released.

Did anyone receive any books for Christmas this year?

My wife did her usual stella job and placed this years Autocourse, Le Mans 1949-59 and David Kimble's Cutaways book under the tree :)

I'm sure it will be. Off the top of my head the only two books I can think of specifically on the 288 GTO are the Automobilia book already mentioned and Ferrari GTO (Art & Car) by Jürgen Lewandowski (which is bi-lingual English and German). The Automobilia book is easier, and cheaper, to obtain.

It is about the F355 World Tour! When the F355 was introduced, a 355 was driven around the world with journalists from each country it visited taking the wheel. It is basically a picture book of the trip.

    Sure Ivo,

It´s mainly a picture book (with some French text) on 15 years of the event "Sport & Collection - 500 Ferrari Contre le Cancer". Approx. 150 pages hardcover and published in 2009. The pics also cover non-Ferraris present at the events, but I´d say about 80-85% of the pics are of Ferraris.

All in all a nice book to add to your collection. I did a saved Ebay search for it and after a few months a copy turned up in France - probably this way is also your best chance to find a copy.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

Does anyone know if there is a US source for this book?

    Thank you.

I recieved my copy of the new Ferrari Yearbook this morning. Very happy with it too. I now have every issue from 1992 and would love to add to that from earlier years.

Just search 'Ferrari Yearbooks' on Ebay. They come up on there all the time. Be patient and you can get the older copies at reasonable prices.

This weekend, i visited the Interclassics fair in Maastricht, and I have seen the OPUS Ferrari in the real thing.... what a book...if you want to caal it a book...

It's weight is enormous, the dimensions also; 60x60x15cm thick....

But it is a beautiful book.....but very pricy... the cheapest is 2350 euro in Holland.
No... too much for a book in my opinion

I purchased a book called "Maranello,Ferrari e la sua gente" , does it rings a bell with someone ??

A beautiful book about Maranello, the factory and the people who are living ther... included a portfolio of 20 aquarell drawings on heavy paper of 20 ferrari cars in front of Maranello sights.....BEAUTIFUL !! and only 35 euro's !!!
