I know it has been a while since I've been here, but I have been looking for a reason to keep my Stradale. I seem to have lost my passion for the car and Ferrari i general, which I thought would never happen.

I know that speed isn't everything, but I've grown a bit tired of making excuses for the car being as slow as it is when compared to a M5 or even a CTS-V.

Been thinking about a Viper ACR. Yes, I know its more of a tank, but it is 44 seconds quicker around the 'ring. Kinda hard to deny the effectiveness of that.

    Is that true?

My CS is so much faster than all the other cars on the road it's frustrating. I don't drive the ring regularly. Where's the bridge to get there?

You have to respect the ACR; the number of track records it holds is a testament to its sheer ability.

I know that sheer speed isn't really a big concern to many people, but I have tracked the car on more than one occasion and found it a bit skittish on exit, turn in is fantastic and brakes are in a league of their own, but speed isn’t really the cars strong point… the newer e-diff really makes a difference, but I really don't like the looks of the 430's.

I did expect some sarcasm here, so no surprise here.

I keed. I understand. You want what you want.

Down here in the south, only red necks drive Vipers.

In regards to your last question, yes there is 5 winery's/ vineyards in Dahlonega alone you can visit. I believe there's even a tour bus you that will drive you to all 5 so you don't need a DD for your wine tastings :). Maybe you and your gf would be interested.

Further info can be found here:
    http://www.dahlonegawineries.com/

    http://www.georgiawinecountry.com/

    http://letsgotobernies.com/ is also good.

You should also try the Corkscrew Cafe on the square here in Dahlonega.

Well the south is full of only rednecks so this statement is redundant ;)

A viper ACR will murder most cars under the control of the correct driver. Extremely hard to drive Vipers fast. You should try one sometime before ......ummm....stereotyping :)

ACR is faster than just every street legal car made to date...no surprise its 44 seconds faster on a track that takes ~8 minutes to get around. That said, you get to the 'ring often? ;-)

I've tracked my car a bit, I think its very "alive" and balanced and easy to rotate while certainly having a lot of grip...that said, its 8 years old at this point and a 458 out sticks it and is much faster as is a Scud and countless other cars like ACR, ZR1, whatever...so?

Its a unique car that is an "event" to drive relative to most cars available (ACR being one of perhaps a handful of cars that is "more" in that way)...but at 425HP and under 300 lb feet of torque, it ain't gonna be the fastest after all these years...sell it if you no longer want it, the market is pretty good for them these days with limited supply relative to any recent year (which is what this thread is all about and intended to be used for). Let us know what you decide!

2-3 years old my guess is 85-95k

Not unlike the zr1 tons of car for cheap.
Very hard to drive fast. I'd assume 5 seconds faster than a CS on road Atlanta for reference.

I'm just guessing I've seen no data.

I have been keeping my eye out - The picture below shows what I am looking for, with alcantera interior - The one for sales in the chart has leather interior. Still wish I had seen the Rosso Dino one at Ferrari of Newport. That was right around the corner & a car I saw it like 6 years ago (At a informal local car meet in OC that was called Crystal Cove) and dreamed about it even back then! I had talked to the prior owner for a while about it that day.

So far I have only owned 2 f cars from the 1980's and I must admit it is a bit intimidating moving into the 21st century!

I see you mention 15 and the list I just posted has 11. Is there someone else I should be looking to see the entire 15? Thanks!

Just got back from a gratuitous blast around the nearby indian reservation and under a few freeway overpasses (i.e. "tunnels"!) on the way to/from. Oh, I guess I got gas and added some air in the tires too...so there was some "purpose" to the drive...other than acting like a 16-year kid with a new muscle car!

What a freakin' blast. Warm up the oil...then revs, revs everywhere. Downshifts to first, just...well, just cause its sounds like ripping silk. Time the lights at the freeway underpasses just to hear the ripping shriek echo and amplify off the cement walls and ceiling...God what a car!

    She's cooling off now...and I'm going to smoke a cigarette :)

And I won't even mention that it was 70 and sunny today...doh!

Most cars need some skills to get the most out of them. I had a field day with my 348 vs a gaggle of Vipers at the track. Most recently with an ACR on a mountain road against the CS. If you can drive, they ain't got nothin! There is nothing better than having a bit of fun with an 'underpowered' car! :)

When I hear, "These cars aren't fast", I find it hugely irritating. It reminds me of the students I have had at the track, who think that a car is fast if they can mash the gas pedal and hold on for dear life. If that's what you are looking for, you've missed the point. Anything can be made to fast in a straight line...... the driver makes the difference when the road goes left and right.

If you think the CS is slow, it just might be time to improve the variable behind the wheel! AZItalian...... call me if you are up for a little CS bonding!

    Here's a link to the 348 v Viper story...
