I was in Detroit last week for the auto show and came across this US spec GT out in the suburb or Troy. Beautiful period color of Nocciola Metallizzato (I believe), looks great in person on the Dino. There was a Daytona on an episode of 'Chasing Classic Cars' awhile back in the same color which also looked great, especially against the wires.
Anyway, thought I would share .... enjoy!

They don't look like they're lying right.
Maybe US wipers and they are not mounted correctly.

That is a beautiful color on the car.

Yes, something wrong with how the "clappers" sit at home position. Still, very pretty car... but I say that about all Dinos!

fantastic colour, one of my favorites...
the wipers are correct for early US-models, the change took place late summer 1972
chassis no. and/or body no. would help to confirm
    regards Matthias

Just finished going through the "What color to paint her" thread as I am on a fully original restoration of 03872 which was originally Nocciola. When I bought the car it was a no brainer that I would change colors. As I agonize over the smallest detail like zinc freeze plugs or brass, gold zinc or silver on 100's of metal parts, original leather color and grain with Henk at HVL, etc. I am coming to the conclusion that Nocciola is the only choice.

    Opinions?

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Do it. It's an unconventional color, and you have the advantage that no one will fault you for going original.

While I really don't like that color, and can't imagine it on any other car, it sure does look wonderful on a Dino. And as pointed out many times before, some colors just seem made for a Dino, bringing out the gorgeous its curves. This definitely falls into that category!

Great photos, Tom. Thanks for posting.
    Intriguing, beautiful color!
As I have been walking by at least a thousand cars from the 60's and 70's this weekend in Phoenix, I was reminded that gold/brown/beige metallic colors were quite popular on American cars at that time. None of them were exactly like this one, though. Really unique, this Nocciola - and very attractive on the Dino.

Scott (dinofan): If I were you, I would not hesitate to go with Nocciola. If you are lucky enough to have a car which was originally delivered in such a rare and exquisite color, why wouldn't you? Some of these unusual colors also have a way of growing on you. The more you look at them, the more you like them. Besides, if anybody asks you why you chose such an unusual color, you have the ultimate answer, the one nobody can argue with!

Thanks for the input. I have a few months for the final decision but i am leaning towards the Nocciola.

    Scott,

I would paint 03872 its original Nocciola in a heartbeat, but ultimately you need to love it, or see the potential to love it. Only you can decide what is right for you.

    All the best,

    Tom
